Precision Rifle Picture Thread !!!!!

@Gear Head How do you like the Athlon for that setup? Which model is it?

It's the Ares BTR. I have 2 Argos's and the ares is much clearer. The reticle is a little clunky but has a floating crosshair which is nice. Overall I'm pleased. I got it at dealer cost but I'm not sure I would spend retail on one. That's coming from someone who has always used cheap scopes so take that for what you will.

Can't post pictures at the moment, but I've been working on a Remington Model 700 LA in .300 Win Mag, that now rests in a Magpul Hunter stock with their AICS compatible "bottom metal", a 20 MOA scope base, Seekins Precision 34mm rings and a SIG Tango 6 5-30X56 for glass, just standing by now for an Atlas bi-pod and some sling swivel studs

One of my prs rigs is a savage. Started life as a 308 then swapped to a 260. I'll never make that mistake again. Trimming brass is not to fun. My new 6mm dasher barrel will be in next week

I highly recommend swapping out the stock. My rifle went from +1MOA to consistent 0.5MOA (or better, as above) when I switched to the chassis.

I am not against it. I have thought about keeping this one 308 since I do not have anything else in that caliber. Sucks to buy a gun and only use the factory action out of it.

I've done the same with a Ruger 10/22. The only thing I used from the rifle I purchased was the receiver.

A buddy of mine has let me barrow his back-up to his back-up gun. Blueprinted 700 action. Benchmark barrel. Chambered in 260. S&b optic on top. AI chassis. This thing will shoot and thankful to have a friend say "here, use this while your guns are being built"

Rem 700 in .223Rem with Criterion 26" 1 in 8" barrele and Timney Calvin Elite 2-stage flat trigger in a KRG Bravo-2 chassis. Scope is a Bushnell 4-18x44 LRHSi. I'm running 73gr ELD-M's @3045fps, 75gr ELD-M's @2830fps and 80gr ELD-M's @2950fps. All loads running TAC powder. I need to explore the higher node for the 75gr but it's shooting them at sub-half MOA. 73's and 80's at just over half MOA. I'm running a Pig Saddle on a PIG0311-G tripod w/ leveling head for whistle pigs.

What tripod is that?

Is that one of the howa chassis rifles? When you get some rounds through it please post a review! :)
Yes it is. Howa 1500 in 6.5C sitting in an AB Arms Chassis.
One of those "if I do'nt buy this now, I'll kick myself later"

Sorting out which direction I go with glass, but should get some rounds down range shortly.
So far, I'm very much a fan of AB Arms chassis. It's clean, simple and priced right. Will follow up once I get a load developed and punch paper.

Got the stock painted OD last night. Now I need to decide on a color for the action/barrel. So far, black is the only thing I can think of that'll go good with OD

Flat black or possibly something in the FDE realm if you feel really adventerous. If going Cerakote take a look at Sig Dark Grey (H-210Q) it is a medium grey with a slight green undertone that would probably work well with the OD stock and black of the optics.

Probably play it safe and get a can of duracoat matte black
