I currently have a Vortex 6-24x50HST that I bought second hand at a bargain (almost 2 years ago)... it has been good to me on my first "long range" rifle that keeps evolving. After looking through some really nice optics at distance (900yds+) my HST is simply not cutting it. It's just hazy, nowhere near the clarity. Once I'm ready to move up, what would you recommend? I own several other Vortex products and would love to stay in the family so to speak unless there is a much better bang for buck contender in the space. This will stay mounted on a 20" .308 so maximum distance shooting would be ~1k yards. Most all of them were Vortex Razors, but there may have been a Cronus or two out there this weekend.
Dude. This is jayme lol. Now I know who you are!I (John) was the stage RO with George on Stage 8 (Steps) on Saturday and on Stage 6 (1000 yard platform) with George and Bob on Sunday. We split duties on Saturday, but on Sunday I gave the stage briefing, Bob ran the shooters and George, well Georged...

You know where I am if you need anything. I have guys come over a lot to do load development at my house. Draw up a load and walk out of the shop and shoot a 100 yard group.Yeah, I just noticed your picture in the avatar. I really wanted to shoot the Guardian at FLD this year, but just have not had the time to put in the practice this year. So, I decided to just RO it instead. I need to get off my ass and start doing more load development and putting more lead downrange. I am rusty as hell.
