Press for 9mm?

The good news is that you can get nearly all your money back if you decide to sell a Dillon later. If you load on a 550 for a year or two, you will know whether the 750 is worth it, but it doesn’t sound like it. Something else I don’t see mentioned much is that the 750 case feeder makes it much bulkier and also noisy while you load.

If you want to speed up loading on a 550 the Double Alpha Primer pro will load a primer tube for you while you are running the press. Having primers always ready to load into the press is awesome, and only a $200 upgrade. That might be as much or more time savings as the case feeder. Plus, loading 100 primers in a tube 1 at a time is tedious and annoying. Definitely not the fun part of loading.

The primers are the main drag I’ve come to see with the Dillon. I usually use a Rcbs hand primer for my bolt actions, but planned on getting 5-6 primer tubes.

Definitely start off with an extra 3 pack of tubes. I had 4 kids loading tubes for me when I started. Last one going to college this fall. Most of the progressive presses have the tedious primer tube loading.

Ordered the 550C, Dillon 9mm dies, primer tubes, flip tray, roller handle, the case bins and the bullet tray.. after shipping and tax, it came out to $852!!!!!!

Buy once, cry once. It'll feel better once you get that 550C cranking out rounds. ;)
