Proper fitting of foam earplugs by 3M

Wish I wore them in 1985 when I started working in Data Processing (IT for you young pups).
Dozen high speed printers, high volume HVAC systems and dot matrix impact printers.

Yeah...I watched it all too...in earnest...

Started wearing plugs to hockey games...after i got tinnitus. Sometimes the insertion technique works, sometimes it dont and sometimes the plugs still work there way back out.

If you put them in all the way they won't work their way out. I didn't watch the video but I've been using foam plugs for years. Roll them as small as you can, lift your ear to straighten out the ear canal, insert all the way (sometimes you have to wiggle your ear and/or the plug while pushing it in) then keep light pressure on the plug until it expands and locks itself in. If you do it right, they're not coming out.

I learned it for riding, as I suspect you may have, too!

Am a partially deaf Ex Director of Safety....started shooting as a youngster. Hearing protection....what was that? Finally, in the late 60's started using protection.....TOO LATE.

I am partial to the Purple Rockets that are sold on Amazon. I had about 30 factories where I would go in and assist the Safety Director and also make sure that our protocols and systems were being applied properly. One of my plants provided the Purple Rockets. That, to my ears, is the most comfortable and easy to "insert" hearing protection that is out there. NOW, do I have average ears or what? Don't know. BUT, the audiologist that fitted my very expensive hearing devices used the "most common" size out of the box. I tried a smaller one and went back to the "standard". SO, I assume that my ear "holes" are normal.

I have worn the Purple Rockets all day long and never had any discomfort. The disposable ones are nice....but all you need is an alcohol wipe and the Rockets are cleaned and ready to go. I have some that are over 11 years old and they have not deteriorated. Wish I had palmed more of them.

Amazon has them for sale in varying prices and lot sizes....so shop around on the site. Have recommended them to others and never a "Boy, that was a waste" comment...

Amen to that! Me too!

Me three.
Like before I spent the better part of ten years standing in front of
Sunn Concert bass 2-15 cabinets with Fender Twins stacked on top.
Sounded good then.

Wait...What'd you say??

And another way you'll know if they're inserted right is if everyone is telling you
"don't talk so loud!!" especially your wife...
