PSA: 11K lowers and 10K uppers week

They have been doing well, keeping that kind of volume flowing. It makes it clear that such things are very much common usage.... and even more clear that one cannot put that genie back in a bottle.

Wow, it that right? That's over 1500 a day if they're working a 7 day work week. How big are their facilities? Didn't they end up buy some part of Remington too?

It'd be nice to know WHAT they are making. As their online pages only show certain items in stock. So i guess they are making just their "general" builds to get them out. And IF they are selling that much, bring the prices back down. geez. Im almost ready for a $1000-$1200 order from various manufacturers. If they get their prices down some, id buy everything from them. I have had zero problems with their builds/parts.

Used to could buy one of their uppers and lowers, snap in 2 pins and have less than $400 in it. And that's when they werent making everything.

I would be interested to see if they are >selling< that many, or just manufacturing that many.

This doesn’t completely answer your question in any way, but I remembered reading it recently. Somebody asked about a store-specific lower for the new Denver, NC location, and Josiah said:

I will send the suggestion on the the Director of Retail. We haven't produced those in a while. It is a good thought, but EVERY machine is going to standard and stealth lowers at the moment. I would suggest it to the store managers once the store opens permanently.

Thats what i was imagining. Stopping/greatly slowing down production of their small batch items in order to significantly ramp up production of their base products.

Hell, even if they did a flash sale on occasion for an upper w/o BCG&CH, id still buy it. Or if they did a sale on their BCG at their prior sub$100 price. But $144 for a typical $75 BCG, nuh uh.

When it became obvious there was going to be an assault weapons ban during the Clinton administration, every manufacturer of guns that were going to be banned cranked up production to make and sell or get grandfathered as many guns as possible. Whether we will get any grandfathering in any future ban remains to be seen, but I am sure PSA’s “Doomsday plan” has this in mind. Make it and sell it. If you can’t sell it, try to get it in as grandfathered.

PSA, and every other company out there, along with a large percentage of gun and ammo dealers, are working like they will be out of business at the end of the year.

And that's a possibility or at least severely constrained. I thought about this when I was finding primers in Canada. They still had them because no one can buy them.
