Does anyone have one? Ive been eyeing them for a long time and with my recent itch for an AK, but my long time hate for the AK platform, as far as comfort goes, the k47 pistol is looking very good for my intended use.
Training, 200 yards max use and home defense use.

I’ve been wanting one of those too, but may put it on the back burner because I really want one of their AK-V now.

I have a CMMG Mutant, if youre even giving an AR style hybrid a first thought, give CMMG. a look, and if you don't close your mind completely to the AK, Arsenal and any other quality AK company might change your mind.....

I just gave the PSA rifle a look, I'm not schilling for CMMG, but I think you would better off in the long run, just a look at the PSA rifles bolt face picture was all I needed to see.

What was the issue with it?

its a basically hogged out standard AR (5.56/.223) bolt, less material around the case head does not make for a strong bolt.

I'm affraid the issue might be that cmmg didn't make it :)

Well, believe what you want, all of the hybrids , RRA, PSA, Windham, all use the same type bolt head, but then again you know what opinions are like.......

Nary an issue with a “basically hogged out” bolt in a cheapie build ar in 7.62x39 here. Somewhere over 2k rounds, all steel case.

Haven’t looked into the PSA version but I imagine my upper would fit their lower. The only difference I know of is their lower uses actual ak magazines. Maybe the bolt carrier Is different to? Where as typical “AR47” rifles need specific magazines. To feed from a standard lower.

I like the idea of that. But from research I’ve seen. With the differences inherent to ak Mags in general. One would end up finding several magazines from their stash of ak mags that would work in the ks47. So in my mind, regardless you end up with individual rifle specific magazines anyway;)

So until one of these ak mag pattern lowers are able to feed from any ak mag on hand, every time. I don’t see justification to spend more for the fancy lower and still have to have certain mags to run it.

On the CMMG. IMO. Being on an AR10 platform kinda defeats the purpose of running an alternative intermediate cartridge. Adding extra weight makes it super strong for such but for me if going to carry that extra weight I want the caliber to tote some extra thump down range to justify it. I just don’t see downgrading a bigger, heavier, .308 platform to run a smaller, weaker round as anything useful to my purposes.

These opinions are worth exactly as paid:D

well, looks like I accomplished both of these goals. Got my AK-V about a year ago and just ordered a KS47 today.

so, any other KS47 owners out there? How do you like them?

I like mine: but I mostly shoot my bren 2 7.62, here is a group I got a year or so ago

Just got my lower. Did my usual upgrades to the lower, MOE K2+ grip, Radian Talon, and a Split Fix for the brace. For the upper I swapped the charging handle for a Geissele SCH added a Magpul hand stop and topped it off with a Romeo 5. Haven’t got to shoot her yet but it feels pretty nice so far.

So, just got back from the range and this thing went down hard. Put maybe 100 rounds of Tula through it and had several FTF, which was the ammo, it’s steel case, no big deal and I expected it, but then I got a couple double feeds and then a couple mags later, it got to the point where it wouldn’t extract the spent casing at all and I had to run a punch down the bore to push it out after each round until finally it’s so locked up I can’t even pull the bolt back. Needless to say, this thing is a huge piece of shit.

I’m gonna contact PSA and see if they can get it sorted out and give it another shot, but for right now I am wildly disappointed with this thing. I realize this is a hybrid and bound to have some issues, but to go down this hard in the first 100 rounds is unacceptable. I never had any intentions of this being a serious use gun, just a range toy and maybe a hog gun, but that’s definitely not even possible at this rate.

Will follow up if I get it running.

What kind of mags? I read somewhere it has to be some kind of plastic mags no metal in new.

edit.... just reread your post didn’t see the part about fte.

Keep us posted on PSA's customer service and if you are able to get it running. I have been wanting to build one of these for a while. After reading how much trouble people were having with bolt failures, I have steered clear so far. But the want is strong and I'm sure sooner or later I will travel down the troubled path lol.

OK The upper is a little different. Just relieved slightly for the lower/mag. Ive run the lower with a standard upper and a couple of dremel cuts.

Thats useful to know.... my Brother has a Ks47 pistol. May need to track down some extractors for him...

Thats insane.... Are spare even available for the ks47? Does it use a normal 7.62x39 ar bolt and parts?
PSA does sell spare BCGs, but I haven’t seen just the bolt. Which is nonsense, since this seems to be a pretty common issue. So they either need to figure it the eff out, or start selling spare parts for this thing.

It's just their bolt. A quality 7.62x39 bolt will last a long long time. I've got A Colt upper I bought in 1995. Still running strong.

I’d be willing to give one a shot, but I don’t think that’s accurate. Supposedly theirs is cut a little different from your standard x39 bolts, because it picks up rounds off AK mags.

Honestly I would buy their late gen AKs in a heartbeat, if they are good enough for Rob Ski they are good enough for me.

Well it came in today so we’ll see how it performs this weekend. I want to run 200 flawless rounds through it and then I’ll consider it a contender for the upcoming hog hunt.
