Just put together a PSA 9 mm ar pistol
That uses Glock mags, the last shot bolt hold open doesn't funtion with the Glock mags. From what I've read on Google this is a common problem,
Is there an easy fix for this or should I just accept that it's never gonna work and move on

they did sell two versions, one with LRBHO, and one without

LRBHO is not reliable in my experience, the mechanism i think is to blame.
i do not see a good fix for it either.

Otherwise, does the gun cycle fine?
Gun cycles fine, no failure s to feed or eject, it's my first PCC and I really like it, it just a little aggravating that I can't get the bho to work

Might be unrelated, I had to buy a AR-10 lower from PSA, and I had to use a PSA specific bolt release. The one that I had bought from Fulton Armory didn't work. Did you use a specific PSA parts kit? If not, that MAY be an issue. There were some threads on the BHO issue on the AR10, maybe you can find something about your PCC.

*Edit, with the PSA BHO, it works fine. slight difference in the specs....

Yes the lower was a complete PSA lower, used a hybrid bolt that runs Glock or Colt mags, wondering if I should have used a Glock only bcg

Of course it couldn't have been a CMMG parts kit and a $7.00 part switch. Are you related to me? LMAO

My example was a complete 9mm lower for Glock mags and an upper with hybrid bolt

The gun runs, but the LRBHO is NOT reliable.
Like i said, the mechanism itself is part of the problem, trying to make something move in a way that is just not natural.
hard to explain, but i've just treated it like the feature is not there!

I know yours is a pistol and probably not for competition, but most competitive guys are short stroking their guns to the point the lrbho won't engage anyway. I can pull mine back just barely far enough for the bolt catch to latch, but you gotta pull really hard to get it there.

My QC10 lower would not lock the bolt back but about 50% of the time. I replaced my mag springs with wolff extra power springs. Now I get about 99% lock back.

Yeah I'm just going to call it a non issue and go on from there, besides the wife and I took to the range last week, and as we were getting ready to leave she flashed me that evil little grin, and said this is really nice thanks, when are you going going to build you one.
I lose more stuff that way than I'd like to admit

Same here. I can lock mine back, but it doesn't lock itself back.
Taccom buffer with short stroke spring.

Sounds like a green light to build another!

I was under the impression that the Glock-mag PSA guns had no LRBHO. There is no linkage that connects the bolt catch to the follower in the front of the Glock magazine.

The Colt-mag lowers (which I have) do have LRBHO. The Colt mags have the LRBHO connection at the rear of the mag. Mine works very well.

I bought a complete PSA lower glock mag compatible and it came with the lrbho. You can make it function manually, but won't function on it's on

Post a photo of the top of your complete lower, with the upper removed.

I just looked more on the PSA website, and all of the PSA brand Glock style 9mm lowers they have listed are NON LRBHO. They do have listed a couple of lowers from other manufacturers (Angstadt and Lead Star Arms) that do have LRBHO.

lever to the right of the PSA emblem is the lrbho. Little busy this morning so I don't have time to take the upper off, guy that owns the gun store has the same lower, his lrbho doesn't function either.
I got the Moe pistol lower

The lever to the right is the bolt catch. There is additional linkage required to make the bolt catch hold the bolt open on the last round (which you can't see with the upper installed). Most semi-auto pistols have a small tab that engages the front of the magazine follower, and this is at the front of the mag, while the bolt catch is past the rear of the mag.

Photo from the link that @NKD posted, showing linkage for LRBHO:

Photo of lower from PSA website, no linkage for LRBHO:

So if you pop the upper off and don't see that linkage, you don't have LRBHO.

Interesting. They don't show those on their website now. I wonder if they had those made by another manufacturer.

AFAIK, they made them for a while, had some problems (like this thread, lolz) and then just went with no LRBHO.
But for a while you could get either.

Anybody have any experience with the lrbho kit from Frontier that's whatI'm thinking of installing on the new build
