I apologize for the bad lighting. I didn’t realize I would be blocking the light from where I was standing.
I had just finished my 308 AR build and discovered I had the well known PSA bolt catch compatibility problem only a bit more extreme. After much study, here is how I solved it.
AERO Precision has fixed a problem that PSA apparently won’t.

Nice Find.
In my travels I was told up front, by a manufacture ~ not PSA, to use an AERO Precision bolt stop.
After I took delivery of my new parts, which included an Aero bolt stop, I come across reports that Aero bolt stops have failed.
I contacted the company that I bought the Aero part from and asked them if the Aero bolt stops fail.
As I recall their reply was, early on some of the Aero bolt stops did fail but that issue has been addressed and something else that if I had an Aero part fail under normal conditions it would be covered.
The Aero stop is MIM or Powdered Metal.
I looked into why it would fail and outside of manufacturing / quality issues I came to understand that an aggressive BCG cycle would help shorten the life of a questionable bolt stop.
FWIW, BCG cycling ( 308 & lesser extent 56 ) is also the primary reason traditional hunting optics can / will fail on a semi-auto.
I looked into a "Real Metal" bolt stop that would function properly with my rig and found a few companies offering Real Metal and all but 1 or 2 came with a Stiff Price Tag of 50 bucks or More.
I'm not slamming Aero, however being faced with potentially ( worst case ) removing a broken bolt stop from the chamber, I chose to get a Real Metal bolt stop.
4140 case hardened with black melonite finish. ( currently 24 bucks )
Grab one our enhanced bolt catches with better paddle and grip area to help in assisting with release of the bolt with even gloves on.
