1) Are all PSA uppers (upper only - no barrel, handguard, BCG) the same, i.e., same material, same tolerances, quality, etc.?
2) I noticed the symbol (the one above and just behind the brass deflector) is different on some but not all uppers. What does it stand for - does it denote a difference in quality or material?

I ask this because I'm looking at their stuff and was about to purchase, but then I noticed that it looks like they have 2 or 3 "grades", specifically in there BCG's (for example: freedom, standard, premium - and then there's the nickel boron).

So anyway, I was just wanting to see if anyone could help. I'd prefer to know what I'm getting before I spend the money. TIA

their lowest line used to be PTAC aka really cheap, but the freedom line is now their lowest and it's usually milspec quality. Barrels are either 416R steel or nitride so those are better than milspec IMO. The premium line uses fully HPT and MPI tested bolts, CHF and CL barrels and usually the barrels are made by FN.

Then upgrades like NiB BCGs and Magpul components usually cost slightly more.

I have never had any issue in thousands of rounds on freedom line uppers.
