On 1-9 i ordered and paid for a PSA AR in 9mm with a 4 inch brl and a Blade brace. Sat tight until last Tuesday. Called and waited 27 minutes to speak to some one. A nice lady explained it was back ordered. I asked her how it was when they said they were in stock when I ordered. She said they were expecting more soon, I asked her since they were advertised as "blems", would I have to wait until more "blems" showed up. She assured me I would not.
TODAY as every other day I get 3 EMs from PSA with their week end specials. There it is again, same gun, exact same gun. My account still shows "processing", not shipped. I have pushed a lot of PSA stuff through here, but this is Pissssssin me off. Can't get anybody on Saturday so I'll have to stew til Monday. I did get access to the review of this gun. Or course it has to pass moderators. I wrote all of the above in the review. Maybe somebody will see it. Sorry , but NOW I feel some better. Beware, PSA is hard to get hold of if you need them. I had read these stories before, first time for me.

They have a rep in their Industry Partner forum on ARF that seems to be the most help so far. Maybe not a reply in 27 minutes, but you don't have to sit around on hold.

I've definitely had some slow shipments...but I also know better than to ever order anything I actually need. :D

I have found their customer service to be on the same level as their pricing. Rock Bottom! The only time I order from them is based on price and I place the order and forget about it so it is a surprise 30 days later when the product shows ups.

Reminds me of the saying you want your food fast or fresh..... cause you aren't going to get both.

longest I have had to wait on them was 4 days. and I have ordered a bunch from them. everything but barrels and bcg's. bcg's are toolcraft and barrels are from several different sources. I did order a 300 complete upper once it came on the 3rd day after the order.

Always have had quick shipments from them myself but they prob overextended themselves. They should give you one that is not Blem for the long wait. Am sure you will get it but does suck to have to wait when the thing you ordered was supposed to be in stock.

Billy, has PSA billed your credit card yet? If so contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. This will do nothing to help you get your gear, but it will make ya feel better. Of course don't expect PSA to keep you on their mailing/valued customer list:oops:.

I've had FFL stuff from them show processing all the way until my dealer called, updated to complete several days later.

I've always had my junk within a week that I can recall.

PSA *seems* to be the case study for a startup that grew "too quickly" and had lots of trouble scaling. They did everything right, and compared to a company like Delton who also offers budget rifles, PSA found a way to make the value better. Primarily, contracting with FN for barrels was their first real win.

HOWEVER, as they have grown and attempted to diversify their product offerings, they have really crapped the bed. They have had to add overhead and I assume lots of their manufacturers, like FN, couldn't handle their increased volume. So they've had to settle for other manufacturers. Suddenly, the very thing that made them what they are, their value, has escaped them.

I'm expecting to see a regression in PSA in the next 24-36 months unless they tighten things up. In my opinion, they need to cut their SKUs and unique offerings and focus on winning a few market segments. I mean, how many damn Glock AR9 pistol variants, AR variants, AK variants do you need to offer?

I quit calling PSA years ago...they never answered the phone and when they did they couldn't tell you anything. I also stopped going to the Columbia location because they were even less useful in person. But I still order from them because like Geezer said, everything comes eventually and I would say most of it came in a reasonable amount of time. I learned there usually wasn't a need/benefit to call them.

I have had good luck at the Greenville location regarding service and selection.

Good Luck!!

If I recall correctly, I once ordered twice as much of something as I intended. Emailed them and they adjusted the order immediately.

Thanks guys, I just needed to vent. I have ordered 23 times from them according to my account info. This is my FIRST problem. I guess they spoiled me and now it's my turn in the box.....

Blem is a marketing strategy for low end quality items so you think you got a bargain.
PSA is not failing in customer service due to overwhelming growth. They could care less about your inquiries. The goal is profits by low margins on high volumes which requires low fixed and variable cost. Salaries are the most costly variables in an organization.

You can’t really believe they have these items in a warehouse owned by them before they put up the daily deals, do you?

Just In Time manufacturimg rules the company world. They are selling items that have yet to be made.

As info, somebody on ARF asked them about some behind the scenes videos. The CS rep responded with:

We are actually working on those videos at the moment. We have over 250 CNC machines, and actually forge a lot of our own lowers and uppers. We will let you guys know when we get all of it together.

Thank you

Josiah

And when asked whether FN still made any of their barrels, he said:

All CHF and anything chrome lined is sourced from FN.

We do not make the CHF melonited any longer. We manufacture the rest of our barrel lineup, Nitride and Stainless.

Thank you,

Josiah

Some barrels are made in Summerville, and some at other facilities.

I will say that sounds like they're making more of their own stuff than I would've given them credit for. If I see the videos get posted, I'll try to remember to post them here. Some of you may follow them on social media and see them first.

Update on my PSA order. Waited another 27 minutes to talk to somebody. The person you get has NO info on your order other than to repeat over and over...it is showing an inventory problem. I am now at 30 days. Long enough that the credit card bill with the charge against it has come. As I said before this was my 24th order from them...I guess I just went to the well one time too many.
NOW...here is the kicker..this past weekend in 6 EMs from PSA for their specials, my gun showed in stock and shipping in big bold letters. I asked the lady if I needed to cancel my order and reorder one of those that they were showing in stock? Her answer to me was....verbatim.....I don't care that's up to you. I cancelled.

Sounds like they need a new computer system and some customer service training. That kinda sucks.

#1 - This is the closest scenario... They are selling stuff before it hits their warehouse.... They are pretty much using YOUR dollar(s)..

#2- If they had/have 250 CNC machines, the machining industry and machine tool industry would know about it... They don't. They don't even invest their money in inventory, let alone investing in machine tools and the people to run it. I also seriously doubt they have a dedicated in-house forge for forging upper and lower receiver platters.

Exactly. Customers are financing their business. 250 CNC machines? That would make them one of the largest machine shops in the US. Very funny.

I've heard many people speculate that New Frontier Armory manufactures their upper and lower receivers.

I called them on the 250 CNC machines...said we'd need pics before anybody believed that statement. :D

FFL items = terrible, unacceptably slow

Other stuff = annoying, but not horrible

Oddly my experience has been the exact reverse of this.

I've ordered 4 or 5 lowers from them and have always had them waiting for me at my FFL within a week, sometimes as soon as 3 business days.

I've ordered uppers that have taken weeks to ship.

I’ve always had good experiences with PSA. The few times I’ve called I only had a few minutes wait, and their CS has been GTG. Did have an upper that took a couple weeks to arrive, but it was ordered during their Christmas sale. Ordered several lowers that arrived at my FFL within a week.

Believe me, I understand all the good reports. Like I said, I had 23 positive experiences. And then there's this time.
