Got an email from QC10 about their latest offering. AR9 lower receiver that uses MP5 magazines.
https://www.quartercircle10.com/products/receivers/receiver-sets/qc5-s-w-qc5ru-s.html

Specs:
  • QC10 Stripped QC5 Lower Receiver with proprietary parts

  • Accepts mil-spec receiver extension (buffer tube)

  • QC5 Rear Charging Upper Receiver

  • No charging handle

  • Engineered for 9x19mm MP5 magazines

  • Both recievers are milled billet 7075-T6 Aluminum

  • Type III Hard Coat Anodizing

  • No Lower Parts Kit installed
  • Made For the AR Platform- Not Modified
Also, $540! No lower parts kit included, except the proprietary parts. They are also selling complete pistols for $1,690 for 5.5" barrel and $30 more for the 7.5".

My thoughts: I am sure it is quality kit, and H&K mags are the same or more expensive than Colt mags. I could definitely see it being a go-to option for people who already have an HK, Zenith, etc that uses the MP5 mag. I'd love to know how reliable it is, as it seems to be made to use a standard AR trigger and LPK, the same BCG as the Glock/Colt guns, and any AR9 barrel.

So let's say the following:
$540 for kit
$100 barrel, Faxon or BA
$150 Handguard
$40 Barrel nut, flash hider
$150 Decent BCG
$20 Charge Handle
$40 LPK
$80 Furniture
$35 Receiver extension, nut, plate
$50 9mm buffer and spring

So you're at $1,200 for a pretty nice rig before optic, irons, and tax stamp. Brace may run you the same or a bit more depending on if you want a Shockwave or a Maxim.

Edit: Guess these were revealed at SHOT this year

When I saw the price, I thought "This is some overpriced bull****".

Then I saw the pic. That does look pretty sweet. Pricey given where the AR-9 market is today, as opposed to several years ago. Still, good on QC-10 for innovating and trying to maintain their margins given all the Glock mag lower competition.

It's pretty, but I see nothing to sway me from standard lowers and colt pattern mags. A glock mag lower maybe... if I owned a glock.

I'd really like a 9mm AR, but I'm not ready to invest that kind of cash into one just yet. Still, the one in the pic is sweet.
