I recently purchased a sccy CPX1 from my sister in law. Her husband thought it would be the perfect carry piece for her, turned out she didn't like it. The weapon had a very low round count ,but after purchase I took it out and test fired about thirty times. After returning home I field stripped if for good cleaning. The " captured" mainspring flew across my kitchen. I finally found the spring and put it back together. I believe this should be a warranty issue. My question to all is it safe to shoot, will it affect the reliability.?

As long as you found it and put it back in it shouldn't be an issue. Just take it back to the range and out more rounds through it.

If you don't feel comfortable shooting it. Call SCCY and get a return authorization, they will check it for you and return it to you. They have a life time warranty, regardless of owner.

I have a CPX-2. Only difference between yours and mine is the manual safety. I carry it 75% of the time. I trust it, don't care if the finish gets banged up, its small and holds 10+1. Trigger pull is long but incredibly smooth.

Their warranty department is fantastic. Call them, they'll send you a new spring assembly. I think you'll be fine operating yours as-is until the new one arrives.

They have no problem sending parts to customers. They sent me an ejector and all related parts to replace it a couple years back. It did not like 100 straight rounds of +P. Neither did my hand. I stick with standard pressure these days.

I have the SCCY 2 and the only difference it the safety. I sold 2 Model 2 and one of the recoil springs broke and the barrels just did not fit like mine. I call SCCY and they sent me 2 new barrels and 2 springs. They did ask for the barrels back to check the QC. Lifetime transferable warranty with NO questions asked.

I never had an issue with the gun. It shoots everything that I put in it. The double action is like a DA revolver but the only issue that I have is the trigger reset.
