Scare tactics did you see a rise in chicken or pork when NC had the flooding down east? Reality is that is alot of animals and sad for people that lost them and livelyhood but not many in the over all food chain. Sad thing is the farmers likely will see a minimal price increase if any but the stores will sure take advantage of it.

My neighbor has a shed with 6 freezers full of pork and beef raised on the property. I write down what I take and we settle up once in a while if need be. Same price as if I bought half a cow from him fresh from processing. So much better than the store bought crap.
