Rain!!!!

Just started Raining here, woohoo!!! We needed it.

We need a slow and steady rain, all we got was a gully washer. You won’t even know it rained a couple of days from now but any rain is better than no rain.

We're getting it now, for about the last hour.
Lightning popping pretty fierce so I'm going back and forth between both sets of dogs trying to keep them calm.
Last big flash popped one of the DSL modems, just shut it all down until later.
Still have to tuck them chickens in too.

We ended up with 1.65 inches over about 1.15 hours. About all that does is wash dirt down into Harris lake a bring rocks to the surface.

2.4" and we needed it.

We lost a bunch of trees to wind shear, lost power for 12 hours, and got way too much rain way too quickly. Ah, summer!

Asheboro got about 1/2" and a couple good pops of lighting that blipped the lights.

Rained for dang near 14 hours straight here

Nada, nothing here but did see lighting in the distance.

We got plenty of rain, which we needed. Plus, it gave me a chance to use the birthday present I bought for myself: the first really nice rain jacket I ever had, which has been hanging in the closet since the end of May.

It's nice to not water the lawn with chlorine for a few days...

My wife's like 'we're watering so why is the grass looking like it's dying?'.

Started up again here in the 'Bridge about 40 minutes ago. Just light rain and thunder, but I went around unplugging schit anyway.
Tally from last night, at least for now-
One desktop, at very least the power supply is toast
One DSL modem toast.
Popped the circuit breaker for the barn electrical.
Popped a GFCI in the kitchen.
Blew out one CFL bulb in the kitchen.
Thankfully, nothing more.

We’ve had a cloud burst every evening the past four out of five nights.

Dinner with my parents, they live about ten minutes away from me in the great metropolis of Welcome, NC
