Gun show in Raleigh this weekend put on by C&E. How big is that show ? Do they pack the building like the Dixie show does ?
I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the drive for me.

Mike,

Dixie shows are typically a little larger. We are in the smaller building this time rather than the Graham building. But I still think it would be worth your while. I actually prefer the smaller building to be honest. It's easier on us. I would say it's probably 3/4 or so the size of the dixie show. But still worth a drive out here unless you have something else serious to do.

Hi Mike,

Yes, I own Backwoods Bang Shop. We do virtually every gun show from Asheville to Fayetteville.

It's going to be an interesting show this weekend!

I'll try and get out there if I can.

6mm250, Yes he is, one of the best to deal with.

I guess I'm headed that way so if you see a character in a blaze orange A.S.S. hat introduce yourself or avoid him , your choice. You been warned.

Mike

Heading out now. Hope the roads aren't too terrible....

There's a guy selling Pelican case clones with the "pick and pluck" foam liners for short dollars. I got one....

Make sure you guys stop by backwoods bang shop and give knifeman32 a hard time for me.

I stopped by and gave him some money in exchange for a 2x4 with a trigger.
and that baby boy of his is getting big.

Glad to see you here Buddy!

Just saw your sig :D I still like maple syrup, but it's from VT or NH trees, grown in American soil, boiled in American air!

I'm getting some new carpeting, so can't go :(

Yeah I have no problem with red white and blue maple syrup! It's just the stuff from north of the border!

i just left, total disapointment, everything for the most part was way over priced especially with the current climate of guns sales. stand after stand of the same 3 pistol makes.

what pisses me off the most are those stupid people selling solvent traps. there must have been 3-4 and thats all they sold.

i bought a used extended CH latch and left.

Thanks. You just saved me a trip.

Would have been good to see folks though

I was just getting ready to ask if the show was worth the time. Thanks for the head's up.

I usually go with a mission. Usually to see Jerek with Backwoods Bang Shop. It's always worth the price of admission.

That show was a waste of time , unless you like jerky , cheep Chinese knives , ladies handbags , magnesium firestarters , scented candles , Walmart guns but not at Walmart prices , etc , etc , etc.

Mike

I may take off for the show, in the morning? I've had a meeting cancelled because of a medical emergency. Thankfully not my emergency. Finding one is probably not likely, but I want a leather holster for my TriStar C 100.

Have had a fair amount of people come in complaining that their guns don't work, of course the muzzle devices were loose/missing and the guts gummed up with pieces of filter. Back pressure can be a real pain

One thing that I never get (at this show or others ).... where are all the old guns? Saw a few S&W revolvers that were nice and a few old rifles but the rest was AR's ... billions and billions of ARs.

It was similar to a Dixie show, except that it was held in a well lit building, not a cave and there were 3 of everything not 6.

No disrespect meant here, but apparently we haven't met. I'm assuming you weren't looking for anything I had. But our prices are pretty good.

And the current climate of gun sales? Sales are still up pretty well for us. We all know a republican is taking office but we're still doing just fine. Honestly, nothing has changed for us at all.

I understand knocking gun show to a certain extent, just try not to group me in with everyone else. We move a ton of guns at these shows and literally work a show just about every weekend.

I don't mean to play favorites, but this is a man to come see. And he doesn't pay us, I pay him, every time I see him, lol.

The old guns are being sold on gunbroker to get the best price possible.

Yep. That and there are just less every year. I see tons turned in for some cheap at or ak. Maybe a glock

I want to show up at a women's purse show and sell AK's.....

Just came back from the show. Hotter than the blazes of hell in there today. My God, turn on the A/C people. I got some good deals on reloading stuff at Cover Six Tactical, there were a few decent deals on hand guns and some over priced stuff too.

Damn! I forgot to grab a couple ammo cans. .

knifeman32 I'm not sure if your specifically the gentleman I was chatting with about "things" today but it was nice to meet you guys.

We were there. Had a great time. Always good to see knifeman32 . Don't paint a broad brush of "overpriced" on a show until you check out his wares.

There are always overpriced dealers at gun shows, and always deals to be had. You just have to be willing to work a bit to find those deals. We picked up a few good deals. Really excited about the 1950s 38/44 Heavy Duty S&W we picked up. Can't wait to take it to the range!

I picked up some 9mm & .45 projectiles from Cover Six Tactical.
Otherwise, there wasn't a lot that interested me, well there was, but not at the prices listed...

I went Sunday morning, and I liked it!

Bought a Lee Auto-Drum Powder Measure for $28.99. Heck, The on-line vendors are asking $35 and change. Plus, the shipping charges. They had another one. I'm now wishing I had bought it also.

I stopped by MTR's. Matt had a CZ Compact, pancake, holster that fit my TriStar C 100 perfect. I wanted the "Avenger" style holster and he's going to make me one. Already paid him.

knifeman32 was busier than the proverbial "one legged man at an ass kicking contest". I went by a couple of times. I was going to say hey, but I got tired and left.

Several folks had powder and primers at reasonable prices. Handgun powder and primers. One dude had some HP-38 lined up. The front container was $3 cheaper than the one behind it. Damn.

I do have one objection about the show. The $10.00 admittance fee was about $3.00 too much. When I left I purchased a bottle of water and a large bag of popcorn. Wow! $2 for the water and $5 for the popcorn.

I'm lucky in that both the CE and Dixie Shows are local. I used to do both the but the CE show is both smaller- and more expensive so I just do Dixie now.
