Anyone going to the military show this weekend? Planning on going. Have a old NS .455 and a Webley .38 to get rid of. Also broke my NoI MkIII Dispersal rifle’s ‘bolt head retaining spring’ today so I’ll be looking for another one. Thought I had broke my rifle but Shamu at the Enfield forum helped me out and edumocated me that it’s a separate part. And it’s only 82 years old. Darn Chinese parts.IMG_0423.jpeg

Been a while since I went. Nowhere as much stuff as in the big building. But you never know what you’ll find. Was kinda thinking about going to the Richmond show but not with the bad weather up there.

I plan to go. I see it is in the Scott building which looks fairly small? How is this show?

Quality show with lots of military collectibles - guns, edged weapons, uniforms, badges, gear. Couple hundred tables but worth the admission if you like military stuff. There are usually some commercial guns mixed in, too.

Sunday, it closes at 3, if I remember correctly. Dealers start packing up early on Sunday, sometimes. Saturday is definitely the day to go.

Just came out of the show. More vendors than the last time. Would have hoped for more firearms. Didn’t sell or trade anything but I bought a brick of Winchester SR primers from a nice older couple. The only primers that I saw. Paid 80.00 but I don’t mind helping out old pharts like myself. But the big buy was a Winchester Model 12 military buttstock with a mortise cut for the sling swivel AND it had a perfectly fit steel checkered buttplate for $400.00. This will replace the cut down stock on my M12 trench gun. Photos when I get it installed. No Enfield parts. I’ll get one off fleabay tonight.

I got some brass from this couple, and they were super nice. He offered me the primers, he had them stuffed in a box under the table, but I am ok on small rifle. I told him to put them out on display and they would sell. lol
I was overall happy with the show. I got a few deals to include a Vortex Viper scope for less than a quarter of it's value. 😁

Sounds like you did ok. Saw a nice looking double hump Stevens pump but haven’t finished my other Stevens Riverside build. Where I found my M12 stock the guy had a nice 1903 straight stock with cartouches and stamps but I’m not rebuilding any more 1903s either. There were a half dozen wrecks on the beltway coming into town. Saw one happen in front of me on the way home. Gotta slow down in the rain.
Just ordered a retaining spring for my SMLE.
