I'm picking one of these up today (modern version not original).

I don't have a reason to own it or place to shoot it....

Any experience? it just seems cool

from what I can gather it only shoots 2.5" 410.

Never shot any lever shotgun that liked Remington shells. Their rims are smaller I believe. Neat that you could find one. There are not a huge amount out there, and they never seemed to take off regardless of who was building them.

Have you priced .410 shells?

it looks like there about a dollar a shell. The good news is I don't actually shoot anything that I own so it shouldn't cost me too much extra.

i'm extremely susceptible to a "that looks cool purchase..."

I think the cheapest .410 ammo I have found is the Winchester superspeed xtra 6 shot 2.5" at Walmart for around $12 per 25ct. This is the reason why the only 410 in the house is a vintage H&R topper 88 single shot 😆

I bet that thing is going to be a blast! I've always wanted one to play with but can't figure out a practical use for one.

The good news is that I bought it as a "package deal" with a gen 1 Kel-tec Sub2K and I don't really know exactly what I paid for either one....

I think that dollar bills (any denomination) are the only appropriate material for the wadding in a .410!

I've started asking my friends to release all of their copperheads, rattlesnakes and cobras in my yard so I can justify having it.

.410's ain't expensive, I shot 150 of them at skeet this past weekend and didn't feel a thing...... Well, maybe 4.00 a box.....

Curious...I can buy 100rd boxes of 12ga and 20ga ammo (multiple brands) at Walmart for ~$21. I've never seen .410 in "bulk" like that...does it exist locally at a similar price?

I rarely shoot it, but I do have a bolt .410 my dad bought when he was 13 or so...

Not hardly, even by the flat (10 boxes) it runs 90.00 to 110.00 depending on the brand and load. Reloading is the only way to shoot it even remotely "cheap".... It runs me about 4 to 4.25 per box to reload with #8 or #9 shot (largest I reload)

I think a little SxS in .410 would be nice.

I found one online but I can't get the guy to respond. It's killing me because I've wanted one for a long time and this one would work well for what I want it for.

I'll try to post pics later.

More info. Unfortunately this is an "REP" stamped version. which means it was built after remington bought? Marlin.

Still pretty cool gun with a limited production and cult following.

I bought a stainless XLR Marlin 410 in 2009 right before they stoped making them. Haven't shot it much, did alright with skeet. ITS purty! nice laminate stock. Been thinking of selling it since I don't shoot it much , didn't know they were so popular!
