Just curious where everyone shoots. I have a membership but some other ranges I am seeing look nice, I am just surprised to see that they are so expensive to shoot at or even closed to the public.

I have been fortunate enough to have my own land for the last 15 years or so. Despite having 10 acres of land it is proving to be more and more difficult with encroaching neighbors complaining about the noise and or even making up stories. I still shoot on my property but not as much. I have since joined Rowan Wildlife Club and despite it being a 2.5 hour round trip, I don't have to hear any crying.

Wow, that is crazy.... I have to say that if it was legal, and I was doing no wrong, I would shoot as much as I want on my own land. Not to be obnoxious but because I love it and because Americuh' hahahahaha.

I know. I just want to live here in peace for another 5-6 years to get my kids through school. Once they are done, the encroachers can pull out their wallets and have it! It was great when I bought the land 17 years ago. That was before it was "cool" to live in Unionville...

I'm just outside the city limits so able to shoot paper and steel down in a gully. I can comfortably only get out to about 30 yards but that's plenty for handguns. I just ordered an 18 x 30 plate to be sure I don't miss.

If the neighbors ever complain (particularly one nearby ******e), out comes the 12 ga.

Have a membership at a little range, weekends only weather dependent. Keep thinking about PHA.
If I had the room legally I'd definitely dig a bay.

Backyard pistol range. Built to pass city ordinance and my police chief is majorly pro-2a since he has a range in his backyard. Neighbors are in a different town and have a stupid 900ft ordinance that I don't have to obey. My gunfire drowns out their mutts barking all night and day

My friend has 30 acres when I need to shoot longer than 25yds

One of a couple of neighbor's ranges on their property. Both a short walk from my door. No option to select this arrangement.

I generally only shoot indoors when I qualify for LEOSA annually.

I have a couple of good friends who have land I can shoot on. They are both gun owners and we shoot together but not nearly enough.

H20 Fowl Farms
Buccaneer Gun Club
Coharie Shooting League
Deep River
Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center (or something like that)

There are a couple people in this thread I need to get to know a little better. :D

I generally shoot on my land in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee. Ain't nobody up there to hear and complain! And if you think my house is hard to find, this place is 15 miles up a dirt road and no neighbors for miles!

Central Carolina Gun Club on highway 62 north of the town of Haw River. It's a 35 mile one way drive but has multiple ranges out to 200 yards. They're working on 400 now

Added the option, thanks for pointing that out, since I dont have friends I never thought of that haha.

I go to Triple Target Range in Sophie. Prices are about as cheap as you are going to find whether it's for membership or by the hour. I really wish the rifle range was longer though. My rifles would love to shoot a lot further then 125 yards.

I've looked at a few of the gun clubs locally but the process to become a member and the annual dues are more than I pay to go to the "open to the public" range I use. My range charges $20 a day ($10 for daily membership, $10 to use the range with one free target). I only go about 5-6 times a year so the ease of use and no required safety classes or current member sponsorship make it worth wild for me.

165 acres of private property (not mine but I have unrestricted access and a key)

USPSA matches. The occasional carbine match at Sir Walter gun club.

I am a member of Frontline Defense USA and love it. I still have friends down east that have plenty of land and will let me shoot whenever I want. But I seldom go down east to shoot anymore as my friends farms are 90 minutes away from here; whereas FLD is only 40 minutes away and is already set up. And for what you get, it is cheap.

Same here (Frontline Defense). Wish I had enough land out of the city limits to shoot on but FLD is nice and well priced

Woody's and DPRC for me. Woody's about 95% of the time because it's a 20 minute drive away. I save DPRC for the day trips with friends.

Does anyone here have a membership to the durham wild life club? I've been on the hunt for a place but due to the wait times I'm not having any luck. Apparently they don't have a wait.

I work close to it. My understanding is that they're basically pro-shotgun and anti everything else.

I'm a member at ENC firing range in Goldsboro. Rifle range goes out to 200 yards. Good people too.
