RBG died

LOL.. Someone told me that they hope that I burn in hell on Facebook because I posted the Tombstone gif "well bye" :)

It's funny how people who typically make sure the whole world knows how much they don't believe in God wish to condemn those they disagree with politically to a place that serves as punishment for those who disobey God.

Eternity has been placed in the hearts of men....

One lesson that both the Republicans and Democrats should learn from this is that a Justice should step down when there is a great opportunity to replace him or her. Had Ginsburg retired under Obama, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Likewise, when there is an opportunity to replace a Justice, like now, you better do it while you can. If the Republicans play around with this opportunity, it may vanish, never to return.

Remember she did do alot of good things for women's rights even though at times her other decisions may be questional

She had been asked about that and commented that she didn't think that the Republican Senate would vote for anyone Obama would put up.

In reality I suspect that she simply didn't want to retire and when Hillary lost she was hoping to make it until a democrat replaced Trump.

If the Senate majority has any sense whatsoever (yes I know) they will put on their big boy pants and vote on a nominee now.

The other side will gnash their teeth but they would be doing the same thing if the roles were reversed.

Yup. I am hoping that in a few years we are not lamenting that Thomas didn't retire under Trump.

The Democrats had a majority in the Senate for the majority of Obama's time in office. Reid used the nuclear option in 2013 for federal court appointments. He could have used it for SCOTUS nominations, had he wanted to. Kagan and Sotomayor were both Obama appointees. Her argument holds no water.

I agree with you that she wasn't ready to retire. I also think that she figured Hillary would win and she wanted her replacement appointed by Hillary. Again, valuable lesson to learn here for the willing.
