My wife got me a Loadmaster Lite for my birthday this past June and I’ve finally gotten around to doing some loading with it, so far I am blown away with how accurate it is and I’m learning how to incorporate it into my reloading process, with the little loading I’ve done with it, I can definitely tell it is speeding things up a good bit for me.

I am still running a single stage reloading press, so loading anything in bulk seems to take FOREVER, I do load a good bit of “accurate” ammo for the 6.5 Grendel and the .458 Socom as well as 75-77 Gr .223 ammo and that is where an automated thrower will shine for you.

Prior to getting the Loadmaster Lite I was running a Lee perfect powder measure which came with my 50th anniversary reloading kit, the perfect powder measure works ok but it isn’t very consistent, for “bulk” plinking ammo it’s fine, but for more accurate ammo it just wasn’t doing the job I needed it to do, normally I’d setup the measurer to throw a charge lighter than I needed and then use an RCBS powder trickler to get the charges where I wanted them, granted it wasn’t difficult at all but it was painfully slow and that got annoying pretty quick.

I’m currently loading some 124gr 9mm Ammo using Red River Hi-Tek polymer coated bullets with 5.2gr of CFE Pistol powder and the first 100-110 charges have been dead nuts accurate, zero under or over dispenses, it’s been taking between 10-20 seconds per charge which is plenty of time to dump the charge into a case & seat the bullet between charges.

The timing has been fairly consistent “charge” wise but every now and then you’ll get one that takes 30-45 seconds which means I’m waiting on the powder charge to finish from time to time, it is a bit annoying yes, but at the end of the day I’m ok with that considering that it would take me much, much longer to get an exact measurement while loading 75-77gr .223 or 6.5 Loads Using the Lee measurer and the hand trickler.

I’m really looking forward to my next run of Grendel or heavy .223 loads because the Chargemaster Lite will definitely make that process faster and consistent, when I’m loading plinking 9mm or .223 the Perfect Powder measurer is probably a bit faster but at the cost of charge consistency, plus I’d normally have to stop every 40-50 charges to “re-configure” the powder charge with the Perfect powder measurer, I never really understood what the actual problem was but as I would run the Lee powder dispenser the charges would normally get lighter as I cranked out rounds, sometimes it would be .07-.09 grains and others it would be .10-.30 grains depending on the powder I was using.

If there is any interest I’ll be happy to follow up in this thread about how it goes when I load ammo that needs better charge consistency such as 6.5 Grendel.

At this point I can definitely say that the RCBS Chargemaster Lite is very consistent and very accurate, I spent a good 30-45 minutes comparing charge weights with 3 different scales & 4 different powders which demonstrated that the CM Lite is definitely a quality product, I also took the time to double check the CM Lite powder charges against my other scales every 20-25 rounds and did not see a single discrepancy!

Good to hear. I've got the regular Chargemaster and really like it. I spent a long time trying to decide whether to spend the money on it, though.

There are some gadgets that I wish I had never spent money on, and there are things that I'm glad I bought. The Chargemaster is one of the few things that I really wanted to kick myself for not buying it sooner.

I hear ya man, so far the best gadgets I’ve used have been the Chargemaster Lite, the Frankford case trimmer system, the super swage and believe it or not a funnel set with different caliber collets that pop into the bottom of the funnel.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have several friends that have steered me away from the gimmicky crap I’ve wanted to buy haha, that alone has saved me hundreds of dollars, I like gadgets a lot lmao.

I can definitely see a Dillon press setup in my future, the single stage is painfully slow trying to crank out anything in bulk.
