I have another S&W Model 10 coming in and I am considering sending one of them in to have re-blued. But I am not sure of what the difference is between High Bright Polish Blue and Standard Polish & Blue. Is the "High Bright Polish" really that much brighter then the standard?

Definitely, compare an older model 19 or 27 to any other S&W and you'll see the difference. With that said, the chemicals that were used on the older "High Luster" finish are no longer allowed to be used (EPA) so it won't be exactly the same, but maybe close...

What does S&W charge these days? Depending on what they charge you might consider someone like Fords instead.

Most of the time it depends on who is refinishing the gun. They all use similar terms but they often discrive different levels of finish.

High bight is $275 and Standard is $220. I will only send it to S&W because if there is anything else wrong with it they will fix it. I had to send a revolver to them years ago for some repair and they did a lot more to it then just the repair I asked for and did not charge extra. So I am a fan.

Found some pics thank you. I definitely liked the brighter the best.

Ford's has this BHP of mine right now. I should have it back in 2 weeks give or take.

I am having them put their master blue on it.

That's nice!

I have always heard good things about Ford. I have a Turkish 45acp that I may send them to have a cerakote finish put on it. The finish will be worth more then the pistol. Have to do it in the winter and hand deliver so I can go to the springs.

Sir, it is my understanding that Smith and Wesson have a limited supply of repair parts for many of its’ older model firearms. So, if something is wrong with your model 10 they man not be able to fix it. If Smith and Wesson feel that the revolver is not safe to shoot they will not return it to you; in the past they have offered to replace the firearm, with a current production model at no charge or at a deep discount.

Best of luck
