Looking for the best price on GI 30 rd mag rebuild kits. Looking to refurb 8 mags total. Just kind of a fun project to mess with and kill time. I would like to do the magpul followers, new springs and ranger plates but that doesn't seem economical at all. What say yall?

Just get a pack of magpul followers. All mine work fine with the original springs.

Certainly not economical, but if you want to do it just get some chrome silicon springs from Brownells and Magpul followers.

Speaking of mags, I just got a couple of the aluminum 30 rd. mags from Brownells. No real reason other than they were cheap and shipped free with some other stuff I bought.
Up until now I only used PMags. Quick question.

Should I take them apart and give the guts a light wipe down with CLP?

Any difference I'm the colors on the magpul followers? I saw some yellow ones for pretty cheap online

I do not have a lot of AR magazines, like some of you guys do. I only have 5.

3 of them are gen 2 Pmags, and 2 of them are gen 3 Pmags.

I have used all of them at least a few times, and all work well. I really like these magazines. I like them so much that I have named them.

They all have unique names, like: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. They have their names marked on the side, just so I don't get them mixed up.

(They DO all look pretty much the same.)

1 seems to be my favorite. I plan to use him until he's all used up. Doesn't look like that'll be anytime soon.

1 has been used several hundred times, without a malfunction. The rest are all waiting their turns. I think that 5 is beginning to wonder if

he'll EVER get another turn.

It must be tough to be a Pmag. :(

I have plenty of pmags. Picked these up today and felt nostalgic from my days in the 82nd

Ooooh let me help

After looking into the cost of this little project I have cut down my number to 3.
I found the 3 best ones that dropped free out of my Magwell. Off to brownells. I will post an update for all who care. I know...its not that interesting...

Nope. No reason to add anything.

Are you having any issues with them now? I'll only rebuild if having issues. Got a dozen 20 rd mags made in the 70s still running fine. Finally sold all my black follower ones to ban states, and no issues with my green follower ones even in full auto.

I have about 40 old beat up GI mags that were given to me, I put magpul followers in all of them and have had zero issues with them over the past 7-8 years.
