Does anyone run one? I'm thinking of getting one of primary arms 3x magnifier and mount to play with. Pros? Cons? Thanks

Not a PA, TMS / Hammers / Predator off Amazon. And the 36mm height FTS mount

If you arent getting the PA LER version than I recommend this as a nice alternative.

I have one somewhere. Cheap Mako or something, maybe that's the problem.
It increased my ability to shoot small groups/targets at longer ranges just as one would expect.
It also introduced significant parallax which I did not expect.
My opinion, a lot of weight and bulk, more lenses to keep clean, no faster than a traditional optic, less versatile than a low power variable.
If I only had one AR and it wore a red dot, I may very well still use it for load dev., as I have other options I prefer, it sits in a box somewhere.

I have an EOtech magnifier behind my EOtech EXPS2
I will post a pic later (actually posted on IG earlier before even logging on here, good timing!)

Aimpoint 3x behind my CompM3. Just got it a few months ago when Midway clearanced them. Eye relief is not the best but the unit is still pretty solid. I need more time with it to decide if I'm sold or of I'd like a LPV optic better.

Nice set up. One suggestion I would offer is, if you are able to I would move that set up back so that your optic is not on the handguard.

I plan to, but Ive got to put the wrench...err, screwdriver to her first.
If you look, theres a riser on there behind the magnifier - I need to get my dang rear iron back off so I can remove it and just havent yet. Once I get that off I'll reclaim about 1.5" of rail space to slide things back and help balance out the rifle. As it is in the pic (with AAC suppressor), its heavy with a lot of weight FORWARD.
If I can get that stuff back over the grip it should be much more comfy

I have the Eotech G33, an older G23, and an Aimpoint 3X-C. For me personally, they turn a red dot into a usable 300-400 yard optic. In the case of the Aimpoint T2, they also resolve the dot into a perfect crisp circle, since I suffer from astigmatism.

The Eotech G33 has the excellent STS mount, which uses the licensed Elite Defense QD mechanism (same QD found on the Vortex AMG UH-1 and all the Midwest Industries optic mounts). On my Aimpoint 3X-C I use the Aimpoint flip/twist mount, which is neat in that it can flip to the side or instantly detach from the base. I have a couple bases so I can move the 3X-C between multiple rifles. The Eotech G23 uses the old ARMs mount, which has a poor reputation.

The 3X-C is the value king, but the reduced price also gives you reduced eye relief. Both the G33 and the more expensive Aimpoint 3XMAG-1 have longer eye relief. This matters when you have a back up rear sight, since you can only place the magnifier so far to the rear. I have to run my stock pretty short in order to get close enough to the 3X-C.

I think a T2 and 3X-C is a potent combination, but you can easily be into a decent 1-4 or even a mid-grade 1-6 for the same price.
