Red Flag law claims one in Baltimore.

This is the Second time this has happened in Maryland in the last 2 months. The other was on here also. That one was a 4 something this one at 5:17. Why is it necessary to go in the dark of night to do this. Seems like if the "red flag" was true, that time of the morning would do more to agitate the problem.
This is the second time that we know of that they have protected someone to death.

He died defending himself against armed robbers. This is going to become all too common, but it isn’t likely to stop until the robbers start suffering significant losses.

Sadly, this is the truth.

This worries me to no end. All my psycho ex-wife would have to do is make a call, tell a few more lies, and then that could be me.
Like that would never happen. Just like nobody would ever misuse the 911 system to report a false hostage situation in the hopes of summoning a swat team.

The last woman I was married to [30 years ago] went to the Chief of Police and told him that I had shot at her inside the house. He tore up her complaint in front of her and his Asst Chief and said...One thing I know Mrs Bruton, if That man had shot at you, you would Not be standing in my office.
Can you even imagine a Chief of Police doing that today? Holy Hell, he would be hanged.

I’m all for restricting the actions of folks that are reasonably believed to be a menace to society, but if it is unconstitutional to stop known felons and gang members on the street and search them for weapons, how can it possibly be constitutional to search a person in his own home and remove weapons based solely on the claimed observations of an untrained family member or neighbor?

The stated objective is fine, but gotta have some due process.

That's one job I would not do...…. When you take someones property from them...…. You have no idea what someone will do.

They do those type jobs at those times to try to catch you off guard. At that time of the morning - most people won't be awake/alert/thinking clearly yet. Also..... if something goes wrong, there are less people out and about to become a victim of something gone wrong.
And...… if something were to go wrong and LE to be in the wrong...… there are likely less witness/bystanders at those hours.

Well, the joke's on them!!! I get up at 0400 sharp.....

The Red Flag laws are becoming excuses for open assassination. People are going to resist when you seek to deprive them of their safety and freedom. It reminds me of the line in Minority Report,
"Sir, don't run."
"Everybody runs."

It occurs to me the irony of calling it a red flag law. As in communism.

Sir I hope you know how lucky you are.
It's a shame that law abiding citizens have to consider breaking the law, by hiding firearms, or any items, to protect themselves from a legal system that was intended to protect us.

Sadly, I disagree. I think the people who create those laws with throw as many LEOs at it as necessary. The lowly LEO is expendable but disarming citizens must happen at all costs. I don't think this will change until the LEOs refuse to enforce it and/or a violent force is taken beyond the LEOs and directly to those creating these ridiculous laws.

This is the same one from last year that was posted

Remember don’t go to the door!

Yea, nothing good comes of it.

Related to that though, what if you just don't open the door, or even answer it? I'm assuming if they have an arrest warrant they just come in anyway and snag you, but if all they have is a "take your property without due process" permission slip, do they bother kicking in the door or do they just go away and try again the next day?

For a gun owner who isn't in the process of shooting someone with his guns, it isn't necessary. Abuse of power plain and simple.

There will be massive lose of life, will they learn, as long as they can send others to do their dirty work, the answer is NO.

The collateral damage for barging in a door at 4 AM needs to be higher...

Jack booted thugs.

One at a time. It is easier to take out citizens one at a time. They are being very creative at ways to make sure an insurrection is not organized.
Resistance is futile.....or is it?

Every tyranny in human history is a contest between the willingness to kill and die of those tasked with subjugating the masses and the willingness to kill and die of those to whom the yoke is to be fastened.

I can believe something this stupid would happen.
The media will stop covering these soon as ordered by the local Gestapo.

Do like some drug dealers do. Install a form of jail cell with interior locks as a gateway. They barge in and wind up in a kill funnel.
That would suck, but pretty ingenious though.
If you lived in a city where home invasions were common ,it would be a great addition to your home.
