I have a Trijicon MRO. I have yet to zero the damn thing, no time and all. I was perusing some articles and saw the Trijicon reflex. Not looking at trying to switch, just trying to figure out the difference.

I don't believe that there is a difference.

The reflex sights are dual illuminated with Tritium and fiber optic. No batteries or electronics.

I have 3 of the 1x24 reflex sights and three RMRs (smaller versions of same, though there are electronic versions of those) on various rifles and pistols. You're welcome to check them out sometime. Perhaps one day when you have time and I have time (sometime in 2025 perhaps....) we could hit the range and you can check them out. And zero your MRO....

Thanks, that's what I am figuring out.. I really, really need to either find time to zero it, or have someone who goes to the range more than I do it. Also wondering if I want to trade the MRO for a reflex since it'll be on my HD/SD rifle....

There are advantages and disadvantages of both.

One of the common criticisms of the dual illuminated sights is that if you are in a dark area shooting into a brightly lit area you can get reticle washout where you won't be able to see it. It happens but is a bit overstated in my experience. The benefit to the dual illuminated reticles is that they auto adjust to ambient light via the fiber optic and the reticle doesn't overpower and blind you to the target when you're in a dark environment. It's mostly a preference thing. I have a pretty bad astigmatism and most dots look like flowers to me, where the tritium lit reflex sights have crisp round or triangle dots that work much better for me personally.

Like i said, when you get some time let me know and I'll try to make some time. I have a range membership in Mebane, not far off I40 if you want to meet me there and test drive mine and zero yours. :).

I had a 1x24 reflex and didn’t like it. Had the 12.9 MOA triangle reticle. Could easily get washed out in the sun light. The fiber optic on the front didn’t pick up nearly enough light

I would definitely go for an MRO

Thanks for the input; this info is what I am looking for.

I was a member there until I had shoulder reconstruction and was away from shooting for a year. Very much liked it.

I will see if we can clear our schedules for a few hours and make it happen.

Sounds good. Shoot me a PM with some likely days/times and we'll work it out.
