So I have looking for Remington 20 Gauge Ammunition Gun Club 2-3/4" 7/8oz #8 and everyone is out unless you want to pay over $7 per box which is high for these shells. I know normally a box is less then $5.50 Found #9 but no #8.

Does anyone know why there is so little on the shelf? I called a few places and they have no idea when they will get more in.

A lot of ammunition is made in runs/batches/lots. Machines could be turning out the 20 ga #9 or other 12 ga ammo out at the moment. Every notice the lot numbers on the end of flap on the box?

I did not even think about batch runs. I used to buy my Eley ammo by lot numbers and it always annoyed me when I would find a good batch and they didn't make that many in that batch.

I watch Gander Outdoors and Academy and Bass Pro. Typically can get them there for about $55 to $59 per flat (10 boxes). Occasionally they will go on sale for $4.99 a box. I check about once a week and order a few flats when they go on sale. Free shipping too.
 
I always keep an eye on Gander. They normally have the lowest price and free shipping
 
Walmart put it on clearance it a few weeks ago. Heard a gentleman from my gun club drove to every Walmart in 3 counties and bought it all. That was before the great toilet paper buy-out of 2020 even!
 
About all shot shell ammo has been grabbed by the first time panic buyers. RAMAC for the 20ga *8 is 20235. Not in production this month, but scheduled for the rest of the year.
