Remember the cargo thefts in Los Angeles? Firearms were in the containers too.

"Guns stolen from rail cars spark LAPD concern"

"LOS ANGELES — Guns are among the items that have been stolen from cargo containers on railroad tracks in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said Monday.
“People were ... breaking into these containers and stealing firearms, tens of firearms,” Moore told the Police Commission. “That gave us the great concern as a source again of further violence in the city as people were capitalizing on the transport of these containers with having little or no policing or security services there
.” "

I thought he meant up to 10 firearms per person. Like each thief grabbed as many as they could carry, up to as many as 10 firearms each...

The only solution to this problem is Universal Background Checks and elimination of the Gun Show Loophole! 🤓
I would be OK with that with some stipulations

1) After passing the background check you can open carry whatever you prefer
2) If caught with a firearm and can't prove you passed the background check
a) you are compelled to buy insurance
b) shoot yourself with your own illegal firearm in the leg. If you can't afford medical care how the heck did you get the weapon?
c) delayed sentencing possible if you work on a chain gang clearing trash in the highest crime area for your county

Aren’t super soakers “guns” under CA Law?
I’m joking, I think they draw the line at red ryders.

"tens of firearms"

Cargo containers come in two sizes: 8'X8.5'X20' and 8'X8.5'X40'. Trains are likely going to be the 40 foot variety.

That's 1,360 cubic feet to 2,720 cubic feet of product storage.

At NINTY CONTAINERS A DAY BEING BURGLARIZED SINCE DECEMBER 2020, these people are worried about "tens of firearms"?

Let's call this 400 DAYS of this going on at an AVERAGE of 90 containers a day. That's 36,000 CONTAINERS. And they're worried about "tens of firearms"?

Let me know when the numbers have soared into the tens of millions of firearms.

I still won't be concerned, but I will at least laugh at their dilemma a little harder.

News: "36000 shipping containers raided"
Californians: "Meh, whatever."

News: "Tens of firearms were stolen"
Californians: "ZOMG GUNS!!!1"

Hey if a little fearmongering will help make this stop, use it.

Whatever it takes to play to the ignorant masses.
