The time has come for the Battery Oaks Meet and Greet. Here are the reminders for the weekend.

When you arrive you will be shown where to park. After parking, immediately go to the sign up area. Here you will sign in and sign the waiver. You will get a name tag and your ticket for the drawings. Everyone must sign up.

1. No one under 21. This is for liability only. There is a waiver form that you'll have to sign before shooting on the range.
2. Battery Oaks is a non-smoking facility. However, at least one designated smoking area will be available for this event.
3. For those spending the night, the gate will be locked at 9PM. No loud noises or music after 9PM.
Billy, his wife, and dogs live there and there are neighbors close by. Billy is a non-drinker. No alcohol will be consumed during the day. For those that camp overnight and choose to drink at the end of the day, do so responsibly. If you are wanting to make it a weekend getaway for you and your significant other, you may want look into getting a hotel room at Myrtle Beach and check out some of the many clubs over there. There are many hotels close by.
4. Please pick up after yourself. If you brought it in, please take it out or make sure it goes into one of the trash cans. Brass can be left on the ground.

We will start the first round of the shooting competition during the morning and shoot until a cut off time. This time is tentatively set for 3PM. All scores will be reviewed and the top 5 shooters will advance to the final round. These will be shot in succession. Scores will be reviewed and we will see who the winner will be.

Billy and myself have made sure that none of the regulars that come to Battery Oaks have shot this drill before. Everyone will be shooting it for the first time, everyone will be on even footing for the shooting.

The competition will have the shooter sitting at a table with their centerfire handgun (no shotshells) laying on the table in front of them. The handgun will have 5 rounds in it. The handgun will have a napkin or similar laying on top of the handgun. At the sound of the buzzer, shooter will get their gun and shoot at five 8" square targets, 7 yards away. One shot per target. You must hit all 5 targets to be eligible to advance to the next round. The 5 fastest 5 shot, 5 hit shooters will advance to the next round.

After the top 5 shooters will be named and they will shoot from the same position at five 8" round targets. Again, only 5 rounds in the handgun. All 5 targets must be hit. Times will be reviewed and awards will be presented.

We are hoping that the shooters will use their everyday carry gun for the competition. This is why it is set up for 5 rounds at a time. The shooter with a J frame .38 Special will have just as good of a chance as the high capacity shooter. Remember, shoot as fast as you can.

Things to Bring

Bring your own eye and ear protection. No one will be admitted to the shooting area without these.
Bring your handgun and ammo. There will be a friendly competition with prizes. Competition will be for centerfire handguns only, 5 rounds at a time.
Bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
Bring your own drinks and a covered dish to share.
Some door prizes will be given out so be sure to hang on to your ticket.

Will we need to supply our own napkin? If so, any particular color? Is lace ok?

Maybe in a ziplock... in case it’s raining. Lol. Or buried underwater in a cache tube, that would be impressive...... with 6 ft of water.

Lace is NOT OK.
You can see through lace, and that would allow the shooter to see their respective weapon, and this would not be fair.
So sayeth the rules.
^ This guy gets it.
