My condolences for the loss of your friend and Brother in Law. He’s at peace, now you need to put yourself at peace with it. I know, easier said than done. I feel for you about the family thing. We go through this every time something happens in my wife’s family. One of her brothers just passed in March, another hasn’t talked to anyone in her family in about 10 years ( he’s a real POS!) and her sister is a raving lunatic who wants to control everything and everyone.
 
Lord God please rest the soul of Smitty, and give @kcult family the strength they need to deal with their grief.
 
Sorry for your families loss. Time to dust this off yet again.

Best wishes going forward for you and the wife. Family and friends leave a void in our heart that takes time to heal. His suffering has ended and he would want your’s to end to.

I’m late to this as well. I offer my strength to your family during this terrible loss and ensuing torment that is expected until the services are complete. Bite your tongue and move on, I think Smitty loved you too and would want it that way. I truly understand what you are going through brother.
