Please keep me in prayer for either a resolution to a situation at my job, where I
have been for 33 years, or for a door to open for a new job.

I'm so brain addled I put this in the wrong place.
Someone please place this in the chapel.

You got them.

I'm right there with you brother. Sucks...

You got em, Basil.

Sure thing Basil. Keep your chin up. Things have a way of working themselves out.

Thanks brothers, I am going to talk to a friend tomorrow about going to work for him.
But please understand that I have been at the same place from 19yrs old, and the thought
of that kind of change scares the crap out of me. I truly don't want to leave. But I can't stay
if things stay the same. I'm coming up on 53yrs old by the way. I'm not a job jumper.

I spent the last 25 years of my career as a technical recruiter which meant taking people out of one company and putting them in another, sometimes several states away.

Fear of change is a very real and natural reaction to this situation. It is what is "normal". We are often more willing to stick "with the devil we know" versus the one we don't.

That said, don't let it impact what is best for the last 10-15 years of your career.

Jonah 2:6
6 To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit.

Matthew 14:26-31 King James Version (KJV)

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Prayers sent. Our fears cause lack of faith which lead us to sink. Have faith and be not afraid to step out of the boat. For God is there to catch you if you start to sink!
