Draw your own conclusions......... Personally if I absolutely had no other options I might do it. I generally pull lids off with my fingers and without obvious damage, but..............

 
Dang lids r $5 up here....I've been tempted but like @iksarus1 says it's not quite worth it.
 
You can spot a deal on new jars if you keep an eye out. I'm always looking...the old grey blind squirrelly thang.

I don't pressure can, I just regular can, so no, not touching that with a ten foot pole. I already chance things by relying on just heat, sugar, and acid.
 
I have reused them after inspecting to make sure the seal looks good and the lid is undamaged. Prefer to stock up on new ones when I find deals. Never had an issue with jars not sealing or food issues.

Reuse them after opening while the jar is in use.

Use new ones when canning again. They're not that expensive.
