He discards????

For sure he must have passed on this one. What clued me in was the little note tucked inside the cylinder that read "Enjoy, I P-ed on this" which I hoped mean Passed, not Peed :D

It's not a pristine example, been carried and has some character marks- but it was still there mid-day Sunday at a very reasonable OTD price.

Probably means it got thumbs down from Olivia. Nice find!

Just wait until you get a holster from @Burt Gummer .

That's really nice. You just beat me to it. Was not able to fet to Gboro [emoji55] really hard to beat a stainless centennial.

Just snagged these K Frame Jay Scott "stag like" grips for $25. Need to find them a home on something...probably a snubby 64.

It's been a good few days for Jay Scott grips. Snagged these unusual (never seen them before) "new in box" Jay Scott checkered walnut K Frame grips. They fill the hand better than stock magnas. Probably better suited to a 4" gun, but they work on this 3" Model 10-8. Really feels and looks nice. Also, they are light-weight. It's sort of a cross between banana and target grips. Makes it look a bit like a Colt Trooper or Lawman...that's okay.

I took Bianchi Lightning Grip off of this Model 10 snub and added the new Jay Scott "stag like" grips. They fill the hand a bit more than factory wood. Also good for CCW because they do not retain moisture.

Here it is next to real stag. Note, it's not supposed to look "real." It's intended to be "stag like." It was more common decades ago.

I do admire his talent for finding nice hardware.

I've been looking for a Model 10 or 64 snub and all I can hope is that one day @Prosecutor will trade up his beaters for nicer ones and offer the castoffs up for sale here.

A guy can dream...

Personally, I'm dreamin' Naiomi Campbell will call me for help with her grip. :D

I'm sure there is a large cadre of men who would be concerned to hear that she may have Grip troubles and become incredibly eager to help her overcome such an odious affliction. However I'm confident that your strategy alone will win out in the end, because you are the better man.

Your welcome, anytime. :D

Shockingly, she did call, just a couple hours ago. Sadly, the first thing she asked after I answered was, "Are you the handsome devil with the cool revolver collection?"

All hope is lost! :(

Well, a couple thoughts. First, you have to cast a wide net these days to find stuff at a reasonable price. Maybe 75-85% of my purchases are Gunbroker or Smith & Wesson Forum. Gun shows are usually a waste of time for used revolvers. Many "sellers" only have a tables to buy from walk-ins, unless you want to pay market plus 50% for their fake boxes and labels. Most gun shops that stock used revolvers know what they have and want to charge high market, plus. It's an okay option for that "got to have" gun but not much else. Embrace the Internet. Shipping is usually offset by "no tax." The FFL transfer fee is a drop in the bucket. I'd buy a season pass to @TARHEELSTATE Tar Heel State Firearms if he's sell them :)

Second, I don't usually buy collector grade stuff. Rarely trade "up." I won't turn down a NIB Smith if I can almost steal it...but the lightly used, or even well worn, revolver is more useful because I carry or shoot everything. My well worn Models 10 and 64 won't hit the market unless Olivia wants to sell them someday.

That said, I'll keep my eyes open for both of those things for you. Constantly trolling or hitting out of the way gun shops. I'll PM you if anything turns up.

Of course we are mostly just busting your chops but indeed I am looking for one of those. Right place right time, etc. Thanks for keeping an eye out !

Mostly, I'm busting my own chops. Green with envy! :D

Work has had me busy and I've been catching up on the last few pages. A lot of beautiful steel. I'm glad there's not a lot of L frames mentioned, maybe I'll have luck picking up another 681 at the "old" prices. I do love the K frames too since I carried a 65 for many years. Keep up the fine work gentlemen....

A buddy of mine inherited a bunch of guns from his Grandfather. He pulled this one out a couple of day's back and texted me a picture to ask if I wanted to buy it. Hell Yeah!
Showed up in the box with original paperwork and wrapped in a old sock. Why in the heck do people do that? Thankfully I was able to rescue this old gal (1958 or 9 from the serial number)
from living in a box in the closet wrapped in an old sock.

I would like to see a 681 in this thread. A stainless, fixed sight, full lug, revolver looks sharp...especially with factory wood.

Thanks to a fellow forum member for alerting me to this Model 64-3 (3" barrel) available locally at an unusually good price. In fact, I tripped over my desk chair running to log on and buy it. [emoji846] More to follow:

Very nice! If you can possibly get the matching sock it will increase the value of everything pictured.
I'm pretty sure it only helps the value if the sock is numbered to the gun.

OK I just utter obscenities. Not that I wouldn't do that anyway, but dammit. Nice score (again!)
