The 1985 Smith & Wesson Model 649 with Ahrends concealment grips is the perfect hot weather carry for deep concealment. Worked just fine today.

That 649 with the Ahrends is perfect. May I borrow it for a year or two?

I'll hang onto this one for awhile, but you can shoot it in October. :)

I had to go out of my way to get this one. It landed in my go-to gun shop a few years ago but was immediately snatched up by a police officer whose son works behind the counter. He put it in lay away. They like to rub "the ones that got away" in my face as much as they like to sell me used guns :) Of course, they trotted it out of the back room to show me what had been missed. Was not going to happen. So, I offered the original purchaser a premium above his purchase price and, because he is a good dude and already has plenty of guns, he accepted. I bailed out his (now my) gun and took it home. It had the original factory Magna grips, Swapped them out for the Ahrends a few months later.

It might come to that because we like the same stuff. You're on a roll buying up the good stuff.
I just read something that provides the rationale. ;)

"You don't overpay for a nice gun, you just buy it a little soon. In a year or two it will be worth what you paid and go up from there."

Some really nice revolvers on this forum! Here's a few more of mine:

Round butt SW .44 special model 21

Colt Army Special .32-20

Cimmaron SAA .45 Colt. It's been used a bit hard by me over the years.

SW 686 .357. This was a gift from the cash in transit company to me when I retired from their employ after 22 years. They also gave me a 1,000 rds of Speer .38 special P+ with it.

Mk VI .455 Webley from 1917. My first handgun when I was 21 was a MkVI milled to take .45 ACP. Full circle but in the original chambering.

Pre-model 10 Military and Police .38 special. Outside finish says it was carried a lot but internally it is in excellent condition. This was a gift from a relative. It's a great shooter!

All of those look mighty nice but that big azz Webley .455 is bad-to-the-bone. Love to have one someday.

Picked up a Smith & Wesson Model 40-1 today. It came in high condition with box and docs. This is a blued steel J Frame “centennial” chambered for .38+P. This is the model with a grip safety. Also, came with a set of wood (appear the be Eagle) grips.

This is my second 40-1. I’ve found both to have super fit, finish, and function. Nice bluing. Great trigger. Classy little snub. Got a good deal on it too.

I want one

Says the guy who drove halfway across the state to pick up another gun yesterday.
I need to clarify. Yesterday was all about trying to convince a very active participant in another forum to join CFF. The fact that he had a desirable gun for sale was simply a coincidence.

Meeting @thrillhill was just icing on the tamale. :D

Today’s carry...a 1985 Smith & Wesson Model 649 with Pachmayr Compac Professional grips, Federal Nyclad 158 gr. LSWCHP, and a TT Gunleather KX Lightweight IWB holster.

I’ve ordered a few more sets of these Pachmayr Compac Pros...very nice and functional or concealed carry.

Bonus picture...it disappears into the pink shorts. I remember how much you guys like them.

Another plus is the gun seems to pretty much disappear too. ;)

So a buddy of mine offered me this in trade for a stock Glock G34, and I didn’t have to kiss him or nothin! :D
I'd go buy a Glock 34 and trade him myself. That's a no brainer. A 2 1/2 in nickel mod 19, AWESOME deal for you.
