Revolver Picture Thread

About 7 or 8 years ago I ran across a beat up blued GP100 in a pawn shop. The finish was absolutely toast. Worn down to nothing over the majority of the gun. But the timing and lockup were perfect. I walked out with it for right at $250.00 if memory serves. I brought it home and gave it a quick cleaning and shot of graphite black Cerakote C to prevent any rust and it rode around in a floor safe in my truck for the next 5 years or so. The last few years it's been in a floor safe in one of our closets as one of the house guns. After taking advantage of Magdump's Cerakote special on my LCP, LC380 and LC9, I decided to take it to him for a proper stripping and recoating in Cerakote H in OD Green. I'll be making a kydex chest rig for it soon and this will be my woods companion this season.

I am beyond tickled with how this came out. The finish is perfect! @Magdump does amazing work!

Well, I did it again. Visited Jeff’s Gun Shop in Franklin on the way to see some friends and I spotted a personal gem. Pictures don’t do her justice but I’m hiding it inside so I don’t weird out the fellow campers. S&W 586, no dash, no lock. ‘81 production date by my judgement. Still has the bluing in the cylinders. She’s purdy to me, more pics to come.

Nice, you just don’t see many 586’s.

Been wanting a Smith 19 for 10 or 12 years now.

Timing never was right.

Couldn't afford one when I saw em and couldn't find em when I had money.

Thanks to CFF, I got my first one about a month ago, and my second one yesterday!
LOL! Feast or famine!

And @Jeppo , thanks for not cutting my legs out from under me on this last one! LOL

Both have some character and wear, and I could not be happier!

Model 19-4 pinned and recessed with wood grips and 19-5 with the Pachmayr compact rubber, both with 2.5 inch barrels. Just my style!

Since we are posting pictures of ponies, I picked up my 6” from my FFL friday. She went to AZ to fix a timing issue. If anyone on here ever needs a Colt worked on, I cannot reccomend Frank Glenn with Accuracy Unlimited enough! Hopefully the sun will come out today so I can get some pics outside.

Could someone have tried to remove damage from the side plate and buffed off the horse?

Is it coated by chance? If so, the pony might just be filled up. I see what looks to be a “S” stamp at the rear of the trigger guard, but normally the one at the front and rear of the guard get filled if the pony is filled.

I wonder why my Agent has no dancin' pony on it? ???

The Agent I had was aluminum framed and parkerized with the barrel shroud over the ejector rod. Don't remember if there was a Prancing Pony on it. Bought the gun NIB at a Gun Show in San Antonio 82-83'.

There’s a 6” Anaconda at Personal Defense for $1750 I think?

Tempted...

I had two of those, sold one, still have one......... They are going expensive these days, see them on Gun Broker $2000-$2500........... The 4 Inch versions are a little more rare........Oh and I am talking 45 Colt only, not even considering 44s..............

Please advise, what did Frank do wrong??? he usually does great work?? Why can you not recommend him?

Oh hell, I’m glad you caught that!

I cannot reccomend Frank Glenn ENOUGH!!

All the work he has done to my firearms has been nothing short of perfect with less than a weeks turnaround on each.

Those small Colts are fun. The big ones are fun too. From top to bottom are a 38 Special Official Police, the 38 Special Detective Special shown above, a 38 Special Police Positve, and a 32/20 Police Positive. The 32/20 has always been among my favorites. I had a nice Python but gave it to a nephew.1027191154a.jpg

That Anaconda has me thinking though. I have a S&W 29 I’d rather replace with a Colt.

Things have gone out of sight on prices............Anaconda's are a little beefer than the S&W, and can take a little heavier load... This of course is in 45 Colt........ I do not know anything about the 44s.............
