Yeah, a retired Air Force guy that followed me home from the landfill says he wants one. Seems they used them in the AF.
He came back for @Geezer Day and I haven't seen him since. Hope the Carnival Virus didn't git im!

I suppose it has been at least a couple of years now since I bought this gun. Cruising around on GunBroker, a very costly thing for me. I sometimes cruise 45 Colt revolvers, and here was this pristine nearly NIB S&W. I started having visions of playing Dirty Harry, only with 45 Colt......... Things got away from me, and I ended up with this gun on the way! Box and all....... I was very excited.

While I was waiting on it to arrive, I thought maybe I should make some room in the safe, and also take some inventory of what 45 Colts I had in there. Well damn, lo and behold, I found another S&W same as what I had coming, only the one I had was used a little more, had dark grips on it, and I just forgot about it being there. Anyway, I am never opposed to having more than ONE of anything............. Two is just dandy with me.

I need to "borrow" the one with the dark grips. I'll send a courier!

Two new production SW N frame revolvers, love 'em both! I know, I know, the internal lock and everyone loves the old production versions, but these work, are accurate, and haven't failed to go bang each time the trigger is pulled.

That's Just my game!

HEH............ Yep.............

I think Billy may have had a few of these ACP guns along the way, may still have some. Me? It seemed like a lot of aggravation, loading and unloaded all those half clips, full moon clips and just a lot of crap to have to put up with to shoot 6 rounds.................

My Ole Buddy David left this one for me, along with all sorts of moons and clips and unloaders and loaders and who the hell knows what else. Figured one day I might shoot this thing some, and by damn its become a favorite revolver of mine now. Even with all the aggravation of loading and unloading clips and moons and such.............

Grips are a little FAT, Like Billy, HEH HEH....... maybe one day I can figure out a slimmer pair, but I don't keep up with revolver grips much and seems there are too many to choose from...............

Close, but I think this guy is set on a blue one. Unfortunately about a month or so before I met him a Geezers party, I sold a NIB blue Model 15 with 2 inch barrel. Not sure if this guy wants one that nice or he wants a shooter, but I can't find either right now. Normally with my contacts, I can find just about any S&W anyone wants, but this one is eluding me at this time.

No, I have not. I might look into that...... Thanks....... I really like this gun! Never figured I would care much for all the trouble, but this thing is just wow........

I'll send you some by "our" courier.

Send over a few sets of grips too while you at it........ I would like a set of skinner rubber grips of some sort. These are fine, just too fat for ONE hand, two hands all good, but too fat for one. I looked and there is so damn many to choose from I don't know one from another these days........1911s are just so much easier for me to deal with.... HEH HEH.............

Done!

Wild Bill is sending a few pieces over, as mentioned above. I looked over on Midway just now, and they have Starline 45 Auto Rim new $24 per hundred. I am sure I will need at least a 100 pieces of this stuff. Will be more than enough, and send some back Bill's way too.......... This could be fun.......

This just never entered my mind.............

I always had a passion for these little Taurus guns in 45 Colt. The one with the smaller grips has been carried many a mile. So light and small, you don't even know its on your hip. I have carried it extensively in both Zimbabwe and South Africa back in the days, and quite a bit in Alaska as well. Last time I carried it in Alaska, I was trying to decide what handgun I was going to carry as backup on a bear hunt. I got out and tried all sorts of things I have here in 45 Colt, and some very heavy loads, and also heavy handguns. I said SCREW this, and ended up taking the little Taurus, electing not for heavy loads or heavy guns. I was well served with this gun for many years in the field. I used it on several occasions to finish various things. The baboon in the photo ended up taking a beating from it. I hit him on the run with the rifle, and followed up with the handgun, he was not a happy fellow, so I filled him full of 250 gr Keith Cast bullets at very close range. He calmed down after that.

On that same trip to Alaska my wife was along and she elected to carry the 4 inch Gun, of course it is also 45 Colt..................

I have now!

Bill sent some loaded rounds over, don't know what bullet or load they were, fairly anemic stuff, it was running 800 fps whatever it was. This is a 3 inch gun of course. In the meantime, I ordered 100 pieces of Auto Rim to play with. So I played this morning and have two nice loads for the 120 Lehigh and the 150 Raptor............

Using WSF....... In this 3 inch gun 120 Lehigh 12/WSF 1493 fps this is average of 6 rounds with ES of 28 fps. Not too shabby. Going to 12.5/WSF really got squirrely 148 fps ES....... 12/WSF being magic with this bullet.

150 Raptor 10/WSF 1371 fps average of 5 with again 28 fps ES.

These are much higher loads than with normal ACP brass. I have not measured case capacity, but suspect the Auto Rim has higher case capacity, because starting loads I used were same as ACP loads, but much lower in velocity than the ACPs. So I went UP........... Brass extracts easy, and shows no signs of pressure at all........ Cylinders started getting a little gummy and need to be cleaned. Other than that, good to go..........

Firing 120 Lehighs in 45 ACP Brass with the Full Moons at 10/WSF gave me an average of 1343 fps. The same as what it gives in a S&W Shield or little more than one of the Kimber Ultras.

Just FYI...............
