Revolvers!!!

I have now!

Bill sent some loaded rounds over, don't know what bullet or load they were, fairly anemic stuff, it was running 800 fps whatever it was. This is a 3 inch gun of course. In the meantime, I ordered 100 pieces of Auto Rim to play with. So I played this morning and have two nice loads for the 120 Lehigh and the 150 Raptor............

Using WSF....... In this 3 inch gun 120 Lehigh 12/WSF 1493 fps this is average of 6 rounds with ES of 28 fps. Not too shabby. Going to 12.5/WSF really got squirrely 148 fps ES....... 12/WSF being magic with this bullet.

150 Raptor 10/WSF 1371 fps average of 5 with again 28 fps ES.

These are much higher loads than with normal ACP brass. I have not measured case capacity, but suspect the Auto Rim has higher case capacity, because starting loads I used were same as ACP loads, but much lower in velocity than the ACPs. So I went UP........... Brass extracts easy, and shows no signs of pressure at all........ Cylinders started getting a little gummy and need to be cleaned. Other than that, good to go..........

Firing 120 Lehighs in 45 ACP Brass with the Full Moons at 10/WSF gave me an average of 1343 fps. The same as what it gives in a S&W Shield or little more than one of the Kimber Ultras.

Just FYI...............
Glad my suggestion worked. Helluva lot easier to load than moon clips . I really like to shoot them in my S&W model of 1989 stainless. I agree that the cases seems to be a little thicker that acp cases
.I can't remeber the exact load that I used but recoil was similar to +p acp ,but not as hot as my Springfield 45 Super.

Yeah, thanks Have Gun, I honestly would have never thought of it, not being all that familiar with those guns. I inherited this gun, and didn't think a lot of it really until I started shooting it some. Figure I will load Bill and I up some Auto Rims, keep those in the gun, and the Full Moons for when the gun runs dry...........

Definitely can load the Auto Rims much hotter running thru the N Frame gun..........
