I have a 10/22 that I’m very happy with as you can read in my “So This Happened” thread in the rimfire forum…

It has a cheap BSA scope on it now, but I want to upgrade the optic and get something very clear with maybe a 4-12 zoom, not necessarily illuminated, and budgetary consideration would be in the $250-$350 range. I have a TruGlo scope on my Ruger Precision rimfire bolt rifle that I really like, so buying another one of those is definitely an option, but I’d be interested to know what y’all are using.

Even a used scope would be fine and ultimately would make a $450-$500 (retail) scope fit the $250-$350 target?

This particular rifle is just a happy little plinker. No plans to do anything serious with it.

wondering why you are looking for a 4-12 zoom on a stock 10/22?
mostly curious, seems like you'd give up FoV and eye relief for gain you might not take full advantage of
 
I got a Nikon Rimfire 2-7x and love it. $99, still some NOS at Backwater in Wilmington last I looked but I think it’s $109 now.
 
My CZ has a standard Weaver 3-9, but my 10/22 clone has a Meopta Optika 6 3-18. You can find the Meopta scopes for around the $300 on sale. Totally worth it and not Chinese.

edit...I may be wrong about the pricing. I got mine before the Optika 5 was introduced and it looks like the Optika 6 went up in price.

Give them a shout and make sure they still have a few, it’s been 3-4 weeks since I’ve been there but they have 5 or 6 left I think so I’d bet they do.
 
Nikon is one of the best deals in glass and would have been out of my mouth sooner if they were still in production. If you can find NOS or good used deals do it without hesitation.

I got by there today, they have about ~10 rimfire 2-7x for $99 left and two 4-12x .223 Nikon scopes for $119. I might grab one of those myself. They’ve had stock long as I can remember so you’re probably safe. If you aren’t headed this way I can grab one and ship or get it to the CFFExpress.

If I can’t get down there this week, I may take you up on the ship offer….
 
Ooof. Sorry. I had similar happen, got there 10 min after close on a Saturday, but prob a shorter trip for me.

Let me know, it might be a month or so but worst case I get up there for work from time to time and can swing by.

Me too. I’m usually in ILM once a week. Just happened to be Monday last week! 😆
