Country star Roy Clark has died, the Associated Press reported.

The guitar player and singer headlined the TV show “Hee Haw” for decades.

Clark died Thursday due to complications from pneumonia at home in Tulsa, Okla. He was 85 years old.

Clark was “Hee Haw” host or co-host for its entire 24-year run.

tell you what - whether you like that country music or not - the man was one of the most talented musicians of all time.

So sad.

Hee Haw was tho only TV series our whole family watched together.

RIP, Mr. Clark.

I remember him saying once that they didn't have electricity when he was growing up. He learned to play on a kerosene guitar.

That generation is not that far removed. My mother grew up in Wayne County, no indoor plumbing until she was a teenager, no electricity until she was 6 or 7.

I think everyone watched Hee Haw. RIP, Roy.

Oh man, that's tough to take! What a brilliant and funny guy. I watched "Hee Haw" for years growing up.....

Grew up on Hee Haw as many posters have already said. I had a neighbor friend that idolized him. Had the same model hollow body that he played at one time. My friend Ed could play damn near as good as old Roy. Never really was into that kinda music but dug the half naked ladies on HH and Roy could pick a mean guitar. Peace out Roy.

Those sideburns should be in the Smithsonian, next to John Dillinger's private parts.

I just watched about a half dozen youtube vids last night that showcased his talent. When I was watching Hee Haw as a yoot, his talent escaped me.

It was Stevie Ray Vaughn vids that led me to watch Roy's. I never knew the man could play like that!

RIP

Dammit.:( All the good ones are dying out.

Who's gonna fill their shoes?

No idear, but guarantee you this current crop-o-jackasses won't even come close.

Family entertainment without having to cover the eyes and ears of the young pups.

Not to derail, but when I was on my Rickles kick, I caught this one with Glen Campbell. Lol...

A little sidebar on Don Rickles... I never really appreciated his caustic style, but by chance I saw the closing to his last TV show. He was sitting in the audience and speaking to the camera. He said that his show had been cancelled, that people thought his humor was too hostile. Then he said, very sincerely, "If you can't laugh at yourself, then who do you have the right to laugh at?"
I have respected that man from that day forward.
