Rit dye is great. I've done multiple knife scales, some Magpul stuff, and even pants!

Used RIT on a hat that was fading...ended up looking even better than when it was new, in my opinion (just the color was better)
I didnt think about buying various pouches and doing this to them, thanks for the suggestion!

I know of eight dummies who made a pot of black dye for a night time field problem. Army dummies. It had to wear off as it would not come off even with bleach.
