Road is mush

Wow........ where did you find enough land in Franklin Co. to have a mile long driveway? Last time I was down there everything looked like a suburb of Raleigh or was planted in nursery.
East side of the county is much more rural. I got 11 acres, there's a couple other blocks of land between me and the highway, absentee owners mostly (I think they live in NY last I heard). Lots of farmland, but also lots of wooded lots in my area, typical seem to be 10-20 acres.

Update: I got the rock in on the worst parts, but before that I pulled up a lot of the slushy stuff, it's pretty firm underneath. The gravel helped with traction on the worst parts, the rest of it seems to be pretty well packed now. It's good if you stay in the tracks - don't wander too far to the sides though...

Still planning to build it up, but at least I've bought some time. Again, thank you all for the input.

Once it gets firmed up start throwing the rock to it, but save money and just have it put in the tracks. My drive is about .3 mi. and it usually takes 2 tandem dump loads at least every other year.
