Rock Island Glock slides?

I've been seeing these for sale all over lately.

I found one YouTube series of a guy making one of these work for him, and one guy reviewing who seemed determined to hate it and that's about it.

Anyone got any experience? I'd be willing to tinker a bit for that price, I'm having a hard time finding a Gen3 G17 upper for less than used whole Glock money. Guess the 80 percent market blew up prices.

I'm fairly certain these slides started life with .22TCM9R chambered barrels and sold as a complete upper for that caliber. I suspect they didn't sell nearly as many as they expected and now sell the barrels and slides separately due to the high demand of Glock slides.
