I know this is an open end questions but:

Does anybody know what size roll pins "MOST" milspec ARs take in the gas block and trigger guard?

I bent one the other day and would like to have a couple extra on hand. I have a set of 4 roll pin starter punches and there was not one the right size. Just order a set of 8 roll pin starter punches.

Most low profile gas block use set screws to hold in. The Front Sight Base/A frame uses taper pins measuring from .115 on the small end ie. Brownells No.4 roll pin holder (1/8" 3.2mm) to .13 large end fitting Brownells No.5 roll pin holder (3.5mm) I never use a roll pin starter for taper pins. Use the largest punch I have and either a 3 or 5 lb hammer.

The trigger guard pin is .115-.12" dia and again fits in a Brownells No.4 roll pin holder (1/8" 3.2mm)

CD, thanks. The gas block uses a pin to hold the tube in the block.
Also, the forward asst has a pin. That is the one I bent.
That block in your picture, how does it work with the slant of the gas block getting level? Hope you understand that question.

Ok, so you're referencing the gas tube roll pin on the gas block. My mistake. Diameter roughly .08", 5/64" or 2 mm. Brownells No.2 Roll Pin Holder
The Forward Assist Pin is a diameter of .1", 3/32" or 2.4mm. Brownells No.3 Roll Pin Holder

On the Brownells FSB block remember the barrel is inserted also. For a low profile gas block, I open the jaws of my vise a bit, lay a towel down over and set the gas block in the gap. Use the roll pin holder to tap the roll pin into the gas block/gas tube.
