Romy "G" AK-47

I've build tons of these but never seen one with a full-auto FCG.

This is a PM.63:

This is the civil guard "G" version:

The quintessential, no frills AKM - when built properly they are right up there with the SAR-1 and (QC'd) WASR-10/63.

I love my Romanian guns, including the two @digitalpaladin10 built for me (and the future two he assures me he'll build ... whenever Recreator catches up on production ;))

Yes, the "G" kits were almost completely imported barreled. It wasn't until later, after the Bush barrel ban, the kits had to have cut barrels. That ban was just pain in the butt for us AK builders.

Dang this makes me wish I had bought a G kit. Weren't the barrelled kits some of the earliest kits available?

Yep, they came in by the container load, with OG barrels but sans receiver. Receivers were torched per AFT requirements. I still have a few G kits with buttstocks attached to jagged rear trunnion stubs in a parts bin.

It's funny that when those were coming in, I had plenty of discretionary income. I didn't start getting into aks until after they got relatively expensive, around 2015.

Same here, minus the discretionary income. But I bought my first AK (a Romy WASR-10) in 2015 and it quickly evolved - or devolved, depending how you look at it - into an obsession.
