And her little sister is positively wicked!
Reorganizing and decided to share some of my favorite WWI items.
French Berthier am La Belle bayonets were known affectionately as “Rosalie” after a popular song.
Some were cut down as positively wicked trench knives. The one shown is needle sharp and fits quite nicely in the hand.
Not sure about the story on the tag but it was effective enough to extract $35 from me.

The cut down one was probably for the R35 version of the Lebel. They are neat bayonets.

You may be right on that.
Although i have not seen a blued one like this.

I have see some cut down even shorter than the R35 bayonet, with matching cut down scabbards, that I assume were fighting knives. I’d hate to be stabbed with one.
