It's a social club for rich guys with humanitarian perspective. My grandparents were members. They do a lot in the community actually, or did.
 
I see signs all over the place referring to them, but never see or hear about them. Maybe they are a Bilderberg farm team. ;)
 
My wife was the President of the Ballantyne Rotary Club the year before last. I went to many events with her over the years she's been a member and officer.

The membership varies from far left to far right. Hard to say it's one type of person. But I've never felt the desire to join.

Her club would raise money to provide water to areas of Haiti that didn't have access to clean water. That was the primary goal of their fundraisers, although they did stuff for the local community as well.
