Bought this one from JoeAZ in the classifieds yesterday. Thank you Joe, it's sweet!! Very clean example and shoots great as well. Need to address the 5# trigger pull but needs nothing else. I took it apart and lubed it today. First ten round target below from the 7 yard line. Ammo was SK STD Plus. Not to bad for heavy trigger shot unsupported. Busted a few clay targets as well. I forgot how much fun shooting these Ruger autos can be.

I’m glad you like it, The older ones are sweet shooters and plus one on the volquartsen kit recommendation

Bought one a long time ago with the bull barrel. Loved that pistol and for some stupid reason I sold it. Missed that gun and when the Wife decided she wanted to start shooting this gave me the opportunity, so I bought a new MK 3 in stainless bull barrel . Still love that gun and I'm not going to be stupid again. Considering the trigger, I never saw the need for a light trigger. The stock trigger pull does not have any creep and breaks clean so it didn't bother me and wouldn't me any better shooter so I left mine alone. But, that's just me .

I’m hitting a 10” plate at 175 yards ~4 out of ten rounds while standing. It gets shot more than any of the others.

This is another very worthwhile investment. They’re sold in a bunch of places.

I also had either a Mk I or II. I actually had two. A 6" tapered barrel and the 5"(?) bull barrel. Also being an idiot I no longer have either

A bull barrel is on my short list of things to acquire

Update:

Put the Volquartsen Accurizing kit in today. Had to resort to the youtube video but all went well. Trigger pull went from 5 lbs. to 2 lbs. 3 ounces on my Lyman digital guage. Shot a box of Norma Tac 22 through to test. No issues at all. My nephew was visiting from MD, where he is a electrical engineer, so he wanted to go shoot some. He gave the Ruger two thumbs up!
