Ruger Precision Rimfire

It's way more accurate than I am.
I kind of want one. But I want more scope than I have on my current 10/22 I use for long range. Well, long range for a 22. [emoji16][emoji16]

Curious if any of you guys have had a chance to shoot these yet? My FFL still hasn’t gotten his allotment so I’m still waiting.

I have shot 3 or 4 up at FLD and have watched 3 or 4 more that are in circulation up there. Most of them have shown very good accuracy, but they seem to be a bit ammo sensitive and I have seen 2 that the owners had a really hard time finding an ammo that their specific rifle liked. However, I think that some of that difficulty may have been due to their testing process. Mainly, I think they started searching for ammo preferences right out of the box before they broke it in good - and also, I know they were testing a bunch of different ammo types at the same time without cleaning the rifle between types and testing each ammo type from a clean barrel. I know for my CZ, I dumped a couple of hundred rounds of various ammo through it playing around to "break it in" before I seriously started chasing ammo preferences. Then when I got serious, I would shoot test groups with a specific ammo type, then clean the rifle before starting the selection process over with a new ammo type. What I have found is that a good rimfire rifle is generally temperamental. There is certain ammo that my rifle shoots incredibly well so long as that is all I shoot in the rifle. But if I shoot another ammo type in it, then it changes something in the rimfire accuracy alchemy equation and it stops liking the original ammo until I clean it and re-foul it with just that ammo. I know that the owner of one of those temperamental RPRR's subsequently started cleaning between ammo types and found an Eley product that performed well in his rifle.

This is the 50 yard "know your limits" spinner rack on the new rimfire range at Frontline Defense. The targets run from 2 inches down to .25 inches (in .25 inch increments) and they cleaned it a few times with the RPRR pictured. Not sure what ammo they were shooting.

Bought one of these today. Fired a few rounds through it for testing the trigger. I like it. Mounting a scope in a couple days and then sighting in and seeing what I can do with it.
