Week or so back I picked up a gen 2 Ruger Precision in 6.5 Some of you may know my wife passed on the 18th of January and I really haven't felt like messing with it. Well today I mounted a vortex viper on it and after three shots had it right. Shot these last two groups. Not to bad laying across the hood of my truck. Excuse my target lol! Going to get to work on some reloads to tighten them up.

Sorry for your loss. A little load tinkering and you'll have that group shrunk down in no time.

how do you like the RPR, I should have mine Friday, also in 6.5
 
I have a stealth in 308 a savage lrp in 6.5 and this ruger in 6.5. The Ruger wins hands down. I love this thing. Feels good, and I shot it suppressed and it definitely will not be leaving anytime soon. I will say the bolt is a little rough. I have heard about guys having them micro slicked. That's the only thing I would complain about but it's no big deal. My stealth is sitting at savage having a new barrel being installed due to horrible groups, and the stock on the ruger wins hands down over the stealth.

Got mine from sportsmanswarehouse about 2 weeks ago 6.5 after tax came to right around 1350 or something
 
I've found it for $1299-1399 + ship/FFL, but still hoping for a better deal. Just found a way to get an instock email alert for it at a set price like a camelcamelcamel alert for Amazon. Hoping that comes through because the few times it has come in stock at stores I was late to the party.

Yeah I think I got it for 1249 + fees.

i hear ya, now with 6mm coming out I was hoping they'd get some more on the shelves. I was searching for months before I found one, now I just have to save up for glass
 
Sorry for the OPs loss.

Picked up one locally on sale, a .308 Gen 2. Could not find a 6.5. Will just change out the barrel later.
