Thinking about buying a Super Blackhawk in 44 Mag with the 3.75" barrel mainly because i like the looks and i don't have a 44mag, i have a BH in 45colt but it is a 4.62" barrel also shoots 45acp, how bad is it going be to shoot the Super BH with 3.75" barrel and "normal" 44 mag rounds? the thing weighs around 50 oz ?

You'll be better off with the Bisley grip frame with full power .44 loads. I had a 5.5" .44 Blackhawk and a .44 Bisley Blackhawk and the Bisley was a lot more comfortable to shoot. The Blackhawk went down the road.

That shorty .44 is gonna kick like a mule unless you shoot .44Spcl loads. If you wanna shoot full-monty .44 mags from a short barrel, go with a Bisley. Much better at managing recoil, IMO.

I'm probably going to be the only one that says this but I tried a Bisley grip gun and absolutely hated it. I ended up trading it off. No matter what grip you get, that short barrel is going to be a handful.

Do you want to shoot a 44 Magnum or do you want to shoot 44 Magnum in Single action?

I like big Magnums (41 and up), But I prefer the Redhawk/SRH. The ergonomics of a Blackhawk don’t work for me.

I have a high tolerance for recoil so take this with caution, but if you have enough practice you can shoot your 44 Magnum Snubby pretty easily....

I've a Redhawk 44mag (I think 5.5") that isn't bad to shoot, I prefer the Colt Anaconda.
The Blackhawk handle/ergonomics look goofy, plus the top of the grip is in line with the bottom of the cylinder.
Try them both before you buy.

I owned the 3.75 inch 44 magnum Super Blackhawk, unlike what some would have you believe, 44 magnum loads do not kick like a mule in this gun, yes, there is recoil, but nothing particularly astonishing. It was a really fun gun in my opinion that actually never saw a 44 special, just sold it for something else like I always end up doing.

The SBH soaks up a lot of recoil. Mine is a pleasure to shoot

I had heard about the normal grips being unpleasant compared to the Bisley, but I installed a Hogue grip my SBH and it has not been unpleasant for me. I shoot some pretty stout loads with it.

Off topic since not a Ruger single action...but go for it. Get & Shoot a short barrel .44 magnum. You'll like the thrill.

I can't speak for the snubbies, but my old 7.5" Super Blackhawk 44mag was one of the most accurate handguns I've owned. I used to have shooting contests with my buddy and his 30-30.

I have no experience with a short barrel but had one with a 7.5” barrel for a while and liked it a lot. Something else caught my eye though and it hit the road.
