Ruger Wrangler Rimfire $249 MSRP

How would either work in a single action revolver?
Yeah—derp moment for me. Maybe if you use a hydraulic press?

I circle back to my original statement though...as much fun as these probably are, only six rounds is cruel.

The GP100 ten shot .22 is the one that I fancy but dadgum they're pricey.
My Heritage has been fine. I got it for kids and newbies mainly, as I'm not a real fan of single actions. I got the 9 shot version with the magnum cylinder also, that made it more palatable for me. $189 otd.
What I dislike most about the Heritage is they made the hammer spur too dang high. The thing just about points due north, making it impossible for smaller hands to reach so they need to use the off-hand to rack it.
o_O
Hello..Heritage..you make a SA revolver targeted at newbies and kids, complete with small grip, and then make the hammer spur un-reachable? Genius.

for those of you wanting a higher capacity......remember Ruger makes the Single 10. Give it time, and they could probably machine an aluminum sleeved 10 shot 22lr cylinder. Otherwise pony up double the price or more. Of course there's always Uberti and Pietta, they both make 9+ round Single action 22s.

That's pretty sweet for a knock around farm pistol. I'd like to see it in 22WMR and with a detachable "pistol" arm brace.
;)

.22WMR for sure. I enjoy the Rough Rider with the magnums.

At $200, that's just short of 2X what I paid for a Rough Rider with a .22WMR cylinder included. I do kinda want one though. Technically the Heritage belongs to Mrs. I like the Burnt Bronze. Add some sweet grips as others have mentioned and BOOYAH!

Aluminum melts at 1221 degrees Fahrenheit but may not meet the Tensile strength requirements which are ridiculous for a rimfire pistol
6061 alloy aluminum wouldn't pass that spec. 7075 would, but is a lot more expensive.

Help me out.... other than the cheap grips, why are these less than half price of the BearCat or SingleSix?

It's all CNC, MIM, and cast aluminum, the cerakote finish is cheaper than bluing or stainless, plus about 65 years of engineering advancement.

With the introduction of the Single-Six in 1953, Bill Ruger pioneered the use of modern investment casting in firearms manufacturing to usher in a new level of affordability in single-action revolvers. Through the use of modern CNC-machining methods, lean manufacturing techniques and a new aluminum alloy cylinder frame, the Wrangler continues this tradition and sets a new bar for affordability while maintaining the rugged reliability that is the hallmark of Ruger firearms.

I can understand those things bringing the price down.....but i didn't think it would be that much!

Where’d you get them?
Altamont. Bonded ivory. I have a pair of Altamont Bonded ivory on a Colt 1911. They have been on it for several years and they have turned and look a lot like real ivory.

My FFL buddy says his cost on these is $161.99 but no one is showing any in stock right now. Ruger is usually pretty quick to get a good supply into the chain. I hope to have one before too long.
Yeah, sub $200 at my shop…not sure when they are coming in. I work there Sat and find out more… Ill own one. Good varmint pistol on the farm. I was about to buy a 22/45 in blue….I may hold off.

They are $199.95 shipped on pre-order from Sportsman's Supply. My distributor is back ordered on them for us low volume dealers.

Yeah...I want one of y’all to order one, then I’ll buy it from you for $200.

Yeah I was never planning to wait on a backorder when I can just roll to the LGS.
Instant Rimfire Gratification :D

Who has them in stock near you?

I think only the grip frame is made out of aluminum like on the Single Sixes. At 30 ozs I'm inclined to believe made out of zinc alloy at that price point and way those states ban it. A Ruger Single Six 4 5/8" bbl is 32 ozs. I'm sure the Wrangler is going to use the same XR3 frame. That frame size is the same as the Colt 1851 and SAA.

Still would like one for the grandkids to shoot. They have a blast with my Single Six but only have one. One grandson already has his great grandfathers .22LR pistol so need some more .22 pistols.

it's actually the grip frame that is die cast, and the rest of the frame is Aluminum. It's been verified on several other forums and in Ruger's spec sheet it mentions that the aluminum alloy surrounds the cylinder. One guy I read in Rimfire Central was going to fit an aluminum grip frame off an original Single Six to the Wrangler in place of the die cast part.

SO the parts break down like: Aluminum 'frame' surrounding Steel cylinder with diecast (assuming zinc/zamak type alloy) grip frame.

I think this will be a good one to learn my kiddo the basics on. Then use it as a trapline dispatch. Win win!!

If they offer a .22LR/.22WMR combo with an adjustable rear sight and a replaceable front sight it will take Ruger years to meet the demand.
